So, this has gone quiet.
One of the Saffer posters mentioned he was back on social media.
Does this mean World Rugby have failed to get anything to stick? It’s been a long time.

WR have to prove that he leaked it. Otherwise they have no leg to stand on.

Erasmus has single-handedly destroyed any goodwill South Africa still had in WR. It's a massive own goal.

Oh stop being so melodramatic. South Africa is and will always be a foundational pillar in world rugby. Despite your hysterical hyperbole we continue to have rugby friends and relationships that will survive the Rassie bogeyman. Just watching the Vancouver sevens this weekend shows just how much goodwill exists. Or a Sanix rugby tournament or Jordie Barret wearing a Springbok rugby jersey after the AB victory.
Maybe you just see the world as lacking goodwill because of the deep sadness in your life. I will pray for you.

Bumping this thread. OK so surely there is now ample evidence now for the blazers at World Rugby to take Erasmus and Nienaber to task for at least some misdemeanors. What are they waiting for? Because if they're not going to do anything then it should be regarded as a tacit endorsement of the behaviour.
This latest waterboy interference with the officials is a disgrace. That and the fake injuries clearly unfairly advantaged the Boks.
If they don't step in and stop this then you might even see teams like England and Ireland also starting to beat the All Blacks on a regular basis.

I notice on saturday after Etsebeth and Marx head clash the Springboks docter showed the nasty cut of Etsebeth to the cameras. They were force to do this because of the moaning about time waisting of fake injuries
I was a bit worried the NZ & NH kids watch the test because the next thing is a complains about cruelty in rugby. They kids already play only tag.

Well yes it is. I'd honestly like to see the end of the waterboy rubbish. We can win without it. The real joke is that the world governing body seem powerless or unwilling to do anything about it. I was very happy to see the ref take action about Saturday's incident. It's embarassing and the Boks can win without it

NEWS: South Africa’s Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus will finally face a World Rugby disciplinary hearing.
The global body on Thursday announced his misconduct hearing will be held at the end of the month.
“Judicial panel Chairman Christopher Quinlan confirmed that the Rassie Erasmus and SA Rugby misconduct hearing will take place over the weekend of October 30 and 31,” a World Rugby statement said.
Quinlan will chair the panel alongside Nigel Hampton (New Zealand) and Mike Mika (New Zealand).
“Following the provision of detailed written submissions and evidence from Erasmus, SA Rugby and World Rugby, a request was received from SA Rugby and Erasmus for an oral hearing, which has been granted,” the statement added.
“The hearing date, set in consultation with the parties, is the earliest possible date taking into account previous commitments of all parties, participants and the multiple time zones involved.”
The disciplinary committee will publish a full written decision following the completion of the entire proceedings.

Erasmus was charged after an hour-long video was released during the Springboks’ two-one series victory over the British and Irish Lions in July.
An indignant Erasmus produced the video after his team lost 17-22 to the British and Irish Lions in the first Test in Cape Town on July 24.
It has also been revealed that a ‘forensic investigation’ is underway to determine who leaked the Rassie video – a 62-minute monologue in which Erasmus revealed his displeasure in the performance of Australian referee Nic Berry and his disrespectful behaviour towards Springbok skipper Siyamthanda Kolisi.
The video was directed at World Rugby’s High-Performance Match Officials Manager Joël Jutge and was forwarded through the appropriate channels.

However, it was leaked onto social media and spread around the world like wildfire.
If the charge is upheld then Erasmus faces a ban and/or fine, while SA Rugby could be fined.

They will never prove who leaked it but Rassie had to have given it to someone in the Boks leadership.
String them all up - after they do compulsory ref courses and adjudicate in 10 games which are all telecast live.

He’s going to get done.
The language in the video demonstrates pre known intent it will go public.
- he says keeping quiet in public didn’t get them anywhere last time
- not sure where this is going to go ….
- if this causes trouble he will take the rap (clearly therefore not just to official bodies)

Said it before but I don't think he really cares. Possibly sees himself as some sort of martyr. He clearly said he was done with rugby before winning the world cup and I suspect a position of DOR was created and he was begged to stay on against his wishes.
WR do have a case to answer for though. This whole idea of NH vs SH having differing interpretations for the same set of laws just shows how farcical that laws are.

This could also backfire on WR by giving him a platform. As Sauc says, he's doesn't particularly give a shit, so this could be the hill he choses to die on.

I'd have more respect for Erasmus if he just had the bollocks to own what he did rather than this cowards sophistry of saying he didn't leak it. As you point out, for starters he's presenting this to camera. Who was the video intended for anyway, why make it? It would have been far easier to just make an audio commentary but instead he is there presenting it to camera with cutaways to him talking then back to the match video.
As I've commented before, he's literally destroyed so much goodwill for South African rugby that even if he were to get no penalty at all, South Africa will not be trusted by the other WR stakeholders again for years. And Erasmus will be like dogshit on their shoes at any official functions where he is present.

If he had made the video looking at reffing decisions which impacted negatively on both sides, then the martyrdom would be his...
Or is there a part 2, where he only focused on ref decisions that had wronged the Lions?

Rassie is currently all over South African TV endorsing various things. He must be coining it. He's currently pumping Luno a digital currency exchange facility. He's making the most of his 15 minutes of fame and notoriety that's for sure.
I won't be upset if he gets sanctioned because I believe he deserves it. But WR will bottle it and give him a reprimand and a short suspension from say direct involvement with coaching or something like that. But once he's rehabilitated he'll probably head North again for some of that sweet hard currency.

Isn't it common practice to query refereeing decisions for clarity before selection? Nigel Owens says it is.

Pretty much. And they have a meeting with World Rugby refs on the Tuesday following matches to go over any concerns. Wonder how that went in this instance...
Or maybe he'll accuse World Rugby of leaking the video...
