I've tried CK2 once or twice, but it is a little overwhelming. Luckily I'm not short on titles to play at the moment, but haven't been playing much either. Do want to get back to witcher 3, and will focus on main quests from here on out I think. Will just check what I can miss out on by doing isle of mists.

EDIT - Looks like there's just 1 side quest I need to do before isle of mists, guess I'll do it then.

It took a while but once you 'got' it it was pretty easy. I did however never find a good way to keep track of all the sprawling relationships and family ties.

It also lead to the must pleasingly mad/epic game narratives - in my last (and final) CK2 run I created the Kingdom of Ireland and placed my relatives on the thrones of France and Spain after taking leadership of some epic crusades against the Muslims who had overrun most of Western Europe.

I am buying CK3!

Yep - I had a 'The Great' Queen near the end who was the target of endless assassination attempts from her Spanish and French cousins - they got her in the end I suspect someone in my court was in on the plot.

On the other hand Dublin was the worlds most prosperous and well developed city by he end of the game.

Turns out CK3 is already on Xbox Game Pass (which is phenomenal value, btw) so I'll be installing that just as soon as my new SSD arrives...

Guess I don't need to pay for this title then, I'll be doing the same. Did you have a go at Gears Tactics by the way?

No - I only got Game Pass to actually accept I was a real person recently. But it's installed and ready to try out. Loved all the X-Com games - yes, even Apocalypse - so I'm sure I'll like it.

The microsoft xbox game bar on the PC is bloody awful. Files are stored encrypted, downloads are temper mental etc. Still worth it though.

Just on the xbox is no issues.

Now managed to get in about 23 hrs of flight time in MSFS2020, completed the second Bush flight and on leg 12 of the first one, Yosemite. So much fun and looks completely fucking amazing!

Looks like Nvidia have just hit it out of the park with the new cards. 2080ti performance (better raytracing) for $499 with the 3070. I'll be picking up one of those 2nd hand next year then. Unless AMD do something drastic.

Real world reviews will be needed of course, but so far it's looking good.

Amazons MMO New World is looking pretty decent, was given a preview key and i must say it plays well, being an old time WOW player, they have really upped the ante a bit here, much less grind grind grind, and the combat system looks like it was lifted straight out of Darksoul (which is not a bad thing)

Most games get delayed, but having played it, I can state happily that it is pretty decent.

Wonder if there's any chance they include this with Amazon Prime. Doubt it, but could be nice.

I doubt it will, but there's a lot of games that are one off payments, but you can have access to through gaming subscriptions (would recommend microsoft game pass for games).

How long have you played it for? Conan was a great MMO for the first few hours...

New World's been delayed twice already, which is a bad sign, and the second delay doesn't have a solid date on it for 2021, which is a worse one. No, I've not played it, but I've watched some fanboy videos of it and even those show how repetititve and janky it is. Apparently the mass of complaints from the alpha is what's caused this second delay. So fair play to them for not forging ahead anyway, but it's still a big flashing red light.

It's very pretty but I don't see how it's anything other than an Elder Scrolls online knock-off. At least something like Ashes of Creation is gearing up to be a gloriously over-ambitious failure :)

Pretty happy with Game Pass - dirt cheap and pretty unintrusive and I am playing Ck3 for £1.

Wonder how it will interact with the DLC Paradox will release for CK3 - not sure I want to pay for expansions to a game I am hiring so may get it on Steam eventually.

Don't think other games have had DLC content included, even older titles. I assume you could probably still purchase it on your microsoft account, but without the base game, need to keep game pass going to be able to access it.

Well thats a bit annoying - I will pick up a CK3 code for Steam when CD keys have an offer then.

Still eager to try Red Dead 2 and Flight Simulator so will keep Gamepass for while at least.

See CK3 strikes me (never really played 2), as a game you can play through again and again, especially as DLC comes. So what I'd probably do is use game pass to make sure I actually enjoy it, and would play it again and again, and then just buy it on the cheapest platform.

Next gen consoles, yeah, ray tracing etc. Don't think I'll be ready to play it again at that point, just finished isle of the mists, going to push through the story now, but play time is limited! Back to bannerlord after that I reckon, maybe try and find horizon zero dawn for a low amount.

Got through Horizon without any real issues. Good game. Of course now I'm going to have to get a PS5 to play the sequel, which was the whole point of releasing it on the PC, I guess.

This thread a bit more active than PR. Quick question, I'm looking at my back catelogue of impulse buys that I never played and I'm wondering is Bioshock Infinite worth playing? I played the first small bit but found the graphics jarring after the likes of the Witcher 3 and Horizon.

The whole series is excellent and you're missing a very good game by not finishing the first one. There's that outrageous Rail Dub accent to enjoy like. Number 2 builds on that. Infinite isn't as strong but it takes the story in a pretty out there direction and is worth doing after the other two.

DLC's good as well. Most of them are pretty short.

Bioshock Infinite has a pretty slow start, wondering around looking at things. It does pick up once the action starts though. The sky hook is kinda cool. I don't really get with FPS games though so I was into the story more than the action.

Worth having a crack, I really enjoyed it. Worth paying close attention to the details of the story as its very good, even if the combat itself can become a massive walk in the park. Love their use of music in that game.

Found Infinite to be deliberately as it is graphically. Less jarring than one or two imo.

Had forgotten the whole wandering about until shit went down start of the game. Was a bit tedious alright but once it gets going, it moves fast after that.

Upset a lot of fun fundies who saw the game as an attack on them. Sample from one white supremacist website:
"The Jew Ken Levine is making a white-person-killing simulator."
The fact that the rebels were as bad seemed to be lost on them.

As the sole representative of the Visual Novel Fan Club here, thought I'd give this one a go.
RAGING LOOP (PS4)- A PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER
Stuck in a remote, forested Japanese settlement, Haruaki Fusaishi is also trapped in an endless, raging loop of death. Every night, a villager is brutally murdered and it's up to you to find out who is the killer before everyone meets their gory demise.
