Teams whose primary tactic is defensive pressure and big hits do this sort of thing in modern rugby I'm afraid.
Standard tackle around the ankles between two locks... with the ball lost forward in contact.

woo hoo... set off the ticker bombs
Oh, we must be thinking about different moments. I was talking about CCS smashing someone.

Right, irrespective of whoever is playing this annoys me, the ref has warned a team about tackles off the ball, then ignores the next one from the same guy who was penalised the last time

It's a genuine shift at international level I think. How many replays have you seen of dodgy moments? Practically zero

Was just thinking that. Not necessarily about head knocks, but I totally agree with it. You can’t ask the refs to speed up the game and make calls then constantly undermine him with replays

What the ref can do is ask the TMO to look at an incident while the game continues, instead Gardner keeps saying, "He was falling into it, for me"

Yes, but as was just illustrated, the TMO is looking at it and can call it back. I’m talking more about the lack of replays on the telly

Yep. Neck roll on him but what the first offence was is questionable. Earl got away with a very blatant offence earlier.

Don't agree with bringing Ford on here. Giving NZ the ball is a dangerous tactic and smith does his best work at the squeaky end of the game anyway

Well I'd agree with that, then, but there must be a directive for TMOs to look at potential head knocks. If the ref has already decided that a contact is ok, can the TMO call it back?
