I'm not really up on my cancers (although, as a ginger who spent time in a previous life prospecting for uranium in South-West, I should be more aware) but is stage 4 serious?

Keep us posted, Fangle; really hope the treatment is successful.

Condolences, Sorc.

I’m with the team who cured Jimmy Carter of it, but they say they cannot predict success. So far so good. It seems stable for now, eight months in.

Good luck with the fight Fangle.

Holding thumbs Sorc. Congestion is an interesting symptom. Not very common for Covid if you end up testing positive.

Thanks for the thoughts, but I’m a hell of a long way from dying and living a normal life. I just feel a bit more vulnerable than most, so maybe a bit more careful than others.

Not detected/Negative. So being treated for bacterial pneumonia. Feeling much better today after some strong antibiotics.

I pulled out an old carpet and underlay without a mask (fucking stupid) and must have breathed in some shark shite.

Pleased it was negative, sorC. This Covid thing is making us all jittery.

Cyril threatening another lockdown if businesses and the public don't get their shit in order.

https://mybroadband.co.za/news/trending ... frica.html

Fair point, complacency is setting in.

I personally had 2 close calls in the last 2 weeks. Guy at work tested positive the day after we met face to face (luckily we were both wearing masks even though we could've probably done more to distance) and some friends tested positive the day before they were going to visit for a braai on the weekend.

Things are going to get bad again after Xmas and New Years.

Sounds like it is only a precaution, after contact with somebody that has tested positive; so self-isolation, not formal quarantine, although I suppose that's semantics.

Setting a good example by following his own guidelines

I am awaiting the gazetting and potentially more flights to open up to maybe book some time over December to stimulate the tourism sector.

Was looking up what games will be on to try to attend before remembering the obvious.

Alcohol is too much of an issue for South Africans.
Smoke weed rather and save your livers. Build immunity against a wide range of ills and spare yourself the unpleasant hangovers.

Look I do understand that having a glass in your hand is the sociable thing to do...but it doesn't have to have alcohol in it. I use an insulated mug because it keeps my drinks cold and the ice doesn't melt as quick so you drink something that's not watered down. Its mounded into a skull so its awesome. I just Coke Zero in it and never get questioned. Shooters are another story...causes kak with the weed.

Moet erken dat die lock down my baie gehelp het. Drink nou net n bier of twee op naweke en miskien klein saterdag as ek vuur opsteek. As jy wil bespaar, begin met drank.

I don't think a lungfull of smoke is going to refresh you after a game of hockey or rugby (or any sport, for that matter) quite as much as an ice cold beer will, but that's just me.

Besides the loss of control associated with alcohol , there are many other substitutes...unfortunately beer leaves me in a world of pain with gout...and you don't always enjoy a Windhoek Light.

Why do you think it's legalized. It's great for you. Depending of course how use it. Where do you think my balls come from in business.
There will always be those who just cannot moderate themselves. But most of my friends smoke and are normal functioning people. Mostly self employed or senior management. All very good parents always taking part in their children's extra curriculum activities. Moderate drinkers.

My wife has started using CBD oil for her stress. Seems to have made a different and she's sleeping better. I enjoy the occasional puff but only when the kids are in bed and the vibe feels right. Very likely to be fully legalised in Kenya soon, which I emphatically support.

My cousin just booked to fly to Durban from London on the 22nd Dec, so I'd say that's a yes. Flight is quite expensive, though, 1,100 quid.
