You are fortunate to have a pool pump.
The problem starts here. Our inverter is only 2.5kva. It has automatic switchover. So you don't realize it's on until you overload it and trip it. Then everything gets shut down. The pool pump draws 1.5kw alone. That trips the system on startup because the pump draws more current on start up. Not sure on pumps but I estimate around 4.5 kw on startup. At a ratio of 3 times working current. If the domestic is still ironing that trips the system. That's 2 kw straight draining the batteries.
I have already replaced 2 hard drives on our laptops. Admittedly those were old generation and not solid state and around 7 years old. So probably due. But this constant load shedding doesn't help. My amplifier which is old generation keeps blowing capacitors. So we never use it anymore because its disconnected waiting for load shedding to end. So it is really really frustrating. I have a laptop in our main lounge which is old. Hard drive just went this week. I just use it for streaming so don't need anything else. Our techie who handles all our maintenance on our laptops, servers , my wifes POS etc. Fitted a 250 gig solid state hard drive and an extra 2mb memory. It was a clean unit when I got it back........
Except, when I went to fetch it, he showed me a streaming service he does the remote set up for in our area.
IPTV. ....
He went through what it has with me whilst I was at his house collecting. It cost 250 for setup, and it's remote. So if like me you enjoy watching the little pointer moving around the screen by itself, opening tabs etc. Thats how it happens. That's his fee. And then 250 a month for streaming. There is a huge Live TV button on the main page. Hit that and then look for Live rugby. No more pop ups and malicious kak on your laptop. Just watching the rugby like watching DSTV.
Look, I haven't explored more yet. But theres Movies, Series, catchup you can click on. Going to try them now. Under Series you get a huge choice. Including Netflix, Disney, Apple. So you can get rid of those services immediately. It's all in one. At just 250 a month. Bargain really.
Only problem. It's only 1 device. So can't share to other devices.
Other than that, it's my Xmas gift to myself and the rest can carry on.
