He's been with our age grades for some time. He schooled at Shiplake in Berkshire so interesting move for him.

We did a few years back have a Montpellier academy player called Robin MacLintock ... who couldn’t peak English. Must've been a strange experience for him.

Correct - in fact I saw him play for the U20s in Colwyn Bay. Authentically Scots name (not sure if it was dad or granddad who was Scottish) but yes, I do remember it being reported that he didn’t speak much English!

(Had a Google out of curiosity. His dad Richard was also a player and a coach - may have coached Belgium - but he was born in Toulon and listed as French. I guess it was granddad then. Explains the lack of English. Robin played 5 games for our U20s and lost all of them)

I thought Simpson looked decent for the u20s but if he isn't making the Glasgow 23 now, the door to the pro game is basically shut for him, right?

The lack of ambition and skill level in both sides was what stood out for me. I know watching Glasgow I'm more used to teams going for the 4 tries. Why Scarlets never took the risk at the end to go for the 4th and deny one of their table rivals a point was unbelievable. Edinburgh never in the whole match strung a run together without a mistake for more than about 25m advance so the chance of them going end to end was really low. Two guff teams with even lower confidence.
