Magnificent performance. Douglas and OBL outstanding, Cowan’s passing was fantastic, great management from Urwin. If we’d played like that throughout we wouldn’t be bottom.
They just need to learn to chop tackle…
bottom?

Really excellent and unexpected performance. Freddy Douglas might be playing for the full squad next year if he continues like that. I hope they’ve learnt today that they can mix it with the best sides.

Don't get kicking it there.
It gave us a chance of going coast to coast to win the game, if we'd scored the try it would have been game over and a loss
My post was about the charged down box kick on 76/77mins to then win a line out and try and box kick long again, only to be charged down.

Hopefully some of these boys get meaningful gametime with the pro sides in the next 18 months. Potential is there in a few of them.

Very encouraging for the U20s.
Regarding the argument of ‘what do we expect, we have the third or fourth best squad?’ that might be true, but the 6N is unpredictable and the best team on paper doesn’t always win the title. What is frustrating is that we haven’t ourselves in the frame to take advantage of the surprising results that can pop up. Classic example - a few years ago, when Zander got sent off v Wales, if we had won that game by a point rather than lost by a point, mathematically we’d have been champions. Yes, all the other results would have to have gone the same way, but even so.

So even Italy can get within 5 of Ireland at home. We are in serious need of an attitudinal adjustment.

That England result is exactly the kind of score we should have put on Wales last week. The difference between our high points and low points in a match are frightening. It’s like some sort of SuperMario power up button gets pressed and the players collectively turn to dribbling idiots who don’t know what to do.

How come when the French commit a penalty offence the ref will coach them to stop but when we do it it’s an immediate penalty?

One of these days we won't get fucked sideways by the officials. How can any degree of headbutt be acceptable.

You sense that if the offence had been perpetrated against a French or an Irish player, the outcome would have been different.

In fairness to Carly he doesn’t know the Wales result.

I'd put Gray down as at best 7th best lock for Scotland but that's maybe just me.

Remember though, refereeing never has an impact on the match result. Or something.

My 6N hot take is that Darge isn't as good as we think he is and not shown enough at international level yet to be captain.

Really can't fault anyone there, just don't have the depth of forwards to compete with France. I reckon most of our backs played their way onto the plane to Australia.

Yep, great gave. Him, Fagerson and Ritchie have a decent chance.

I’d have Sione, Cummings and Dempsey in my 15 which puts the likes of Jordan, Gilcho and Fagerson/Darge/Christie on the bench. I think that potentially helps alot with the last 15-20 minutes. Unfortunately I’m not sure how feasible it is to ever have that 23 available. Also we have no front row depth as discussed many times over.

Ritchie would be the perfect dirt tracker for when the yokels go hunting for scalps and try to soften the boys up.
