Na, more of "fuck me, we told you so", here's the evidence of the many lies that I just can't seem to find it on Tory Laura's Twitter feed.

35 pages? You can read that on the flight from Heathrow to Brussels, Dom.Rhubarb & Custard wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 1:20 pm He is right, it's not like a novel. You read a novel presumably for fun, whereas reading the GFA would come more under being part of his job. Hardly the only one of us to be saying I can't be arsed with doing the job properly, at least it doesn't stand out in this cabinet.

Looks like the great cheese victory is turning out to be not quite so easy...

Meh, it's but a temporary blip, the plucky Canadians will soon learn that paying exorbitant prices for our cheese is well worth the hassle and price, ay!
In the mean time, why don't they just sell it locally in Sainsbury's and slap a flag on it! time to stock up (but not stockpiling for any reason).

It's weird to argue with a poster who isn't posting.

The first lie they sold was the world wide economic crash wasn't the fault of the banks...but Labours fault, and the fault of UKs poor sick and unemployed.
The feckless.
There were many here fully on board with this shite, not for weeks or months but for years..
Once they got away with that lie, they could get away with practically everything.
It was a fest of "believe everything you want."..and why not.
Brexit came from the same source and Well (hatred of foriegners etc) as the hatred of the poor sick and unemployed...
The later gave them taxcuts and allowed them not to pay for the global financial crisis, and shift the blame onto the most vulnerable in society, and Brexit will allow them to capitalise on the impending financial disaster.
So well done peeps, your hatred, anger and resentment of other people, has been used against you, to full effect, and by every charlatain with half a clue.
The feckless.

And just so we're clear, the news is real:
Brexit: Anger over government's failure to get Norway fishing deal
Fishing crews have been "disastrously let down" by the government's failure to reach a deal with Norway, UK Fisheries chief executive has said.
UK fleets will not have access to Norway's sub-Arctic seas, following the breakdown of UK-Norway negotiations. One trawler, which catches 10% of fish sold in chip shops, will be tied up for a year following the collapse in talks.
The government said it had offered a "fair deal" but the two sides were "too far apart" to agree a deal this year.
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said fishing communities had been "betrayed by the prime minister".
The UK's departure from the EU means it is no longer part of the European Common Fisheries Policy and instead negotiates with Norway directly over fishing catches.
...
Speaking to BBC Radio 4, Jane Sandell chief executive of UK Fisheries, said the failure to reach an agreement would mean her firm having only 40% of the fishing opportunities of previous years. She also criticised the government for failing "to deliver on all of the deals we previously had through the EU with third countries"

Like dozens of others he's screwed, & then cast aside, after they'd spread their legs; the fishermen now have to deal with the consequences of thinking that he'd treat them different from all those he fucked over before.

They fell for the spoonfed line that we'd be better off negotiating our own trade deals and fishing agreements because the simpering EU and other nations were going to bend over and take what what was good for them from the mighty UK.
The fishing communities had good reasons to vote for Brexit. What they didn't understand was that the Tories were flat-out lying to them, didn't give a shit about them, had relentlessly mischaracterised the reality of the existing deals, and were prepared to sacrifice them in an instant.
I am pretty torn on this one as growing up on the coast in the South West I'm well aware of how important it is to these people and their livelihoods. I don't want to see it disappear, especially as our waters are great for fishing - which is why we sold off so much access in the first place. But our fishing is also largely moribund; it's a largely low-tech industry run by people who live in the past and use equipment from decades ago, up against bigger, better funded, better equipped foreign alternatives. It's an industry that should exist in this country, and should thrive. I just don't see how it continues in its current form.

It'll be interesting to see if there's any change in the conservative vote in NE Scotland - their relative strength in this area is partly down to fishing and farming communities.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 11:37 am The fishing communities had good reasons to vote for Brexit.
