Big, big game for Glasgow. Home semi on the line.
Some interesting choices, and Scott Cummings back on the bench. Still no sign of Huwipolotou, unfortunately.
The big call is Ollie Smith over Josh Mckay at fullback, and Josh is not on the injured list
McKay listed as unavailable with an ankle injury. Would surely have played otherwise.
Big call is Jordan over Hastings.

Loosehead James Whitcombe is going to Embra from Leicester - AllRugby has him having a decent amount of game time for Tigers - is he any good, SaintK or other English posters?
He's SQ

I worry when you see props getting little time off the bench. Doesn't suggest confidence in him (see how Scotland treat sub THs).
Rhys Litterick a THP has also signed. Spent a few moths at London Scottish a few years back.
Two SQ prop signings.

His starts are all Prem Cup though, he is just a bench option it seems in proper games.
Seems fair enough as a squad depth option but might not be troubling Schoeman and Venter for a start.

Aye, there's obviously a reason he's not being offered a "please stay with us" deal at Leicester.

I reckon that with Venter becoming SQ at the start of next year's 6N, this is backfilling the squad. Bomber hasn't broken into the team and neither has Mikey Jones played or trained in a. way to demand inclusion in the 23 too often.

Unavailable for selection: Jack Dempsey (hamstring), JP du Preez (head), Matt Fagerson (ankle), Zander Fagerson (calf), Angus Fraser (ankle), Huw Jones (ankle),
Josh McKay (ankle), Ally Miller (back), Fin Richardson (back), Rory Sutherland (shoulder), Sione Tuipulotu (pectoral), Henco Venter (suspension), Duncan Weir (shoulder).
But hopefully just a strain from his return 80 last week.

Looks like Ollie Blyth-Lafferty is out in Parma as 24th man. It's good to see that he's with the squad but he needs to get playing time

An unusual situation tonight in that we have to choose which match to watch. I think I am going to go for Edinburgh, a bit more to play for in their match.

Zebre are not playing well, they would be taken apart by a decent side.
They are deservedly beating Edinburgh at half time

I'm not sure how much more of this I can watch.
Last season I stopped watching live and only played it if we'd won or had a decent performance.
Everitt and the rest them have to walk, the dead cat bounce has been and gone

It was - the conservative nature of Everitt is killing Edinburgh, He should have been on earlier. Douglas gets another seven minutes. Shiel too when Price looked tired.

It was maddening watching Shiel at the end as his pass is so fast and so accurate. Price was chucking a few anywhere which slowed the game.
Agree about Douglas but Watson did have a superb game in defence and his goaline turnover (which tbf was illegal as Muncaster was in the way) was vintage.
Not a good point for Edinburgh but good fight shown.

Looked much better playing at pace after he came on. Grahams break was fantastic and Scott should some balls for that conversion.

I thought Watson was done earlier this season but recently he has been excellent.

I’d given up on Edinburgh’s chances after the Zebre game. How the hell did Scarlets manage that? OK, it looks like they were playing Leinster C, but we’ve seen the likes of Edinburgh beaten hollow by Leinster teams that were weak on paper.

Watched the highlights of this. Can I just say how wonderful it is to watch a Scotland side beating Ireland again? We could do with some of that in the men’s game, but Toony approaches every game v Ireland by doing the exact same things and hoping for a different outcome.

It’s an interesting result in a number of ways, not least because there is now only 1 Irish side in the top 8. My wife is Irish and my in-laws (none of whom are Leinster fans) are not happy at all with the way the IRFU is running the game over there. Very much Leinster-centric to the point the other teams are becoming/are uncompetitive is their view.

Definitely supported it as did Emma Thomson, Jack Louden, Doug ray Scott, Alan Cummings, etc etc
Not just opening as it was either - there's a fourth screen in, all the seating has been replaced, building maintenance that had been left for years completed, new bar and restaurant etc etc. They were also quite lucky in that the guy who bought the building (same guy who owns the Renaissance Club, so not short of a bob) is also an enthusiastic patron of the arts in Edinburgh, and gave them good terms, a long lease, ensured all the repairs etc were done at his cost and was flexible with timings to allow them to raise the necessary funds.
I put money into the Open The Doors fund, so I get an exclusive screening of something at some point, looking forward to that.

Definitely a feelgood story. One of my best friends and also my brother worked for the Film Festival back in the day. I watched Pulp Fiction as the Surprise Film at the Filmhouse the year it was released in 1994 (and with no preconceptions about it, which was amazing). Good times.

Worth noting that the Filmhouse isn’t taking on the leadership role it used to have in the Film Festival. It’ll stay separate. In the interview I saw it highlighted that the two things are very different, with conflicting pressures, which was one of the difficulties with the old Filmhouse. It’ll still be a big part of it, obviously, but won’t be running it.

I’ve just been given access to two more debentures as my dads old mate has said he won’t be coming up again and was keen to start taking the family to a few games but that’s an outrageous price for a ticket, IMO
