Understand they get a 2 week break then off to France and UK. Not 100% sure but they surely need to get their homework up to date.
SA is still a red Zone over here in the UK, so would need to quarantine for 10 days.
Seems crazy to go through quarantine again when you don't need to?
Dunno, our lot play in the urc up north and seem to have a way to speed up the process. Think that is why they go via France. Also look like we will get from that red zone list.

What an intriguing Bok-AB game this will be.
... maybe the most riveting "dull and dour" test ever.

It’s madness what R Mo has gone through just to get a spot on the bench.

Might as well just have flown straight to NH.

Mental Heath is important, homesickness will be real. 5 days at home for SA based players with their families, then back on the road will see the players refreshed and keen again. Hopefully.

Many play in the NH for season at a time.

Plus I doubt seeing family refreshes anyone. They’re mostly men in their twenty’s

Even with Zoom and facetime etc? Imagine before the internet when they were away for long tours... maybe just get the odd phone call home... I am just thinking the extra 10 days in quarantine.. stuck in a hotel room... and hence no proper training.. can't be good physically or mentally either?

Think he will be keen to have a crack at the boks, and coaches will be keen to give him 20min against a tired defence

Dare I say it, but BBBR seems to have developed some slightly lazy habits around the ruck/breakdown since Japan, and is getting pinged a lot. Mostly offside offences. He is not getting the same lax treatment in international rugby as where he was in Japan with superstar status.

No one take this as a suggestion I don’t think he should be starting.

I agree. And that obvious block at kick off was just dumb. Let's hope it's been addressed.. along with making sure our attacking rucks are more efficient and less prone to turnover because of lack of numbers at the breakdown...

So have we figured out what happened to Jordan?

Was playing really well, got subbed off and hasn’t returned to the fold. Someone made suggestion of a possible injury.

I haven't seen any mention of an injury.. just that he was dropped along with Bridge...

Thought he and Bridge both got dropped for their poor handling on attack and under the high ball?

GB had a bit of shocker yes, but Jordan didn't do anything that warranted dropping. They certainly weren't the only people guilty of poor handling. Sweaty ball must have been a nightmare to deal with, I would be hanging anybody out to dry.

Didn't think either of them played well tbh, considering we knew exactly what to expect from the Boks and they were selected to counter it. Jordan has huge potential and will get plenty more chances, but Bridge was picked for his dependability and shat the bed. Not sure he'll get many more chances, if any.

Pretty harsh on Bridge -- he had a bad day at the office but will not be as bad as that again.

Good to see the Kiwis here. After tomorrow test we will only play again next year. Myself really rate and appreciate the Springboks/All Blacks rivalry and next year we put Rona behind us so this rivalry change to home and away like in the past. Playing this in Australia feel dof.

I'm just grateful these tests are being played at all, regardless of where. How are you feeling about tomorrow's game bro? Confident the Boks will bounce back in style?

I quite like the idea of the RC being in one country each year... like a proper tournament. So every 4 years you get to host the RC... reduces travel and helps prepare for the world cup tournament... ie living away from home for a few weeks.

Instead go back to travelling half way around the planet each week to play one game?

Yes ja. Ja sure we can if we improve 1% on last week however I dont care if we lose if we can play with passion and the Boks gave it their all. Losing like we did against the 2nd Wallaby test hurts my heart and make me depressive.

The thing I am most worried about is our conditioning. This strategy we're employing is designed to compensate for that. Its been obvious since the first Lions test and hasn't really improved. Siya Kolisi's improved play is down to fitness and power gains I believe. Mostert has a freak engine. But the rest don't impress me. Trevor Nyakane hasn't been too bad.

Pollard looks scared and maybe hiding an injury. Etzebeth and Vermeulen look flat. Marx, Bongi and Malherbe are not anywhere near where they should be. De Allende used to have a bit of zip. Thats gone now. Sbu Nkosi also seems undercooked. WDP must now vokof. An undersized carthorse.

Don't worry, it's still humid on the Gold Coast... the ball will be slippery again... it will be tight.. for at least an hour anyway.

Wouldn't have minded the earlier game, tbh. It's been a long day already, I've been on the turps since lunchtime and there's still over 3 hours till kick off...
