Something's about to go down in Kherson City, Russian flags removed, administrative staff moved to the left bank, checkpoints and some defensive positions abandoned. Can only hope RU aren't setting some kind of trap for flooding the city or worse...perhaps just digging in for street fighting?

That's a hell of an increase in one week. So big stuff going on but not being reported on.

Russians claiming to have drafted in over 300,000 new recruits.

That equates to a lot more killing on both sides.

These will be hugely inexperienced troops and do they even have the equipment? But the sheer numbers of them is huge and will be overwhelming I’d have thought.

If the numbers the Ukrainian are posting anything close to the real thing the mobilised numbers Will not matter.

What a senseless loss of life, this loss of sons and husbands has to have a social impact for Russia when it finally ends ( other than shifting a load of Ladas)

They already have worse demographics than western Europe. I was surprised how high aids rates are in Russia (>1% of the population).

It's why 300k mobilised means not a great deal i suspect. They'll simply be slaughtered without training or prep. Especially when facing artillery etc. Mobilised troops with no training are not going to be driving tanks or operating artillery etc. They have no hope, just a meat shield to slow Ukraine down.

I'd guess that over the winter, the leading cause of death for Orc Officers won't be Ukrainian artillery; it'll be fragging.

Someone posted this clip on Twitter the other day, & I think there's a good chance history will repeat itself a century later

And the way this is being done with large numbers of men from the same towns and cities being sent to the front lines together - and dying or being maimed together. It's very reminiscent of the "Accrington Pals"

A lot of those companies are healthcare, pharma, etc, & provide services that aren't subject to sanctions, & rightfully so !

There's a big difference between a company like Bayer, & Schlumberger who make too much money from the oil industry in Russia, to ever want to leave.

Numerous villages around Kherson now appear to have been abandoned by RU forces and the area north of the city looks ever less defended with many bridges blown up. Large amounts of traffic heading over the dam crossing to the south ( they need to keep their plunder). Even some rumours that RU will announce surrender of Kherson City tonight but UA will be very very cagey about advancing given the RU record of mines, booby traps and shelling the shit out of anywhere they leave - if not worse.
