No, they did that on their own. Had Young just gone for it he'd most likely have scored under the posts with momentum, then there was the van der Walt charge down. 9 point left on the pitch in a 4 point match.

Then there was the total lack of composure in the second half. OK, there were a lot of young guys out there, but that was poor.

Now you see why the "Salary Cap" for Leinster is a sack of shit.

The Celtic League/Pro12/Pro14/URC has always been competitive; because, bar Leinster; no-one could really field their top sides, on a regular basis. The Irish sides have to give up their Internationals, & then the National coach dictates rest weekends thru the rest of the season too; the Scottish & Welsh, best sides, have to give up too many Internationals, & just don't have the depth, to not see a step down. Connacht today were awful when they lost just 3, or 4 players; & Glasgow, were bigger & stronger; & ground them down.

Leinster having so many, of the National 1st team; means that even if, its not as much of a step down; the combinations just haven't got enough time on the pitch; & they can be turned over by a decent oppo, like Cardiff tonight.

It does at least make for a competition; where the playoffs aren't decided until the very last few games; so you get meaningful games down to the death.

Fair dues to Cardiff, great performance from them. Thought their pack were excellent as well as the half backs. What's the story with Lane? He seemed to mix the brilliant with the idiotic tonight.

Given they were missing their starting pack, and probably half of their 2nds, it wasn't surprising to see Leinster taking a bit of a beating up front.

Ross Byrne kicked his goals well but just doesn't offer much else. He was running through treacle trying to cornerflag Lane for his try.

Harry Byrne looks barely servicible at URC level any time I've seen him this season. At some point he needs to shit or get off the pot given the amount of hype surrounding him.

Probably a good reality check for the likes of Penny, Ruddock, McGrath and Frawley who are used to being part of sides that steamroll teams in this competition.

One of them needs to be forced out of Leinster. It's just too damn comfortable being 2nd/3rd in line; & not having to do anything to justify their salary.

Either Ulster, or Connacht could set them up with a decent IQ SH; & give them plenty of game time; & not having an armchair ride behind the Leinster pack might force them to develop a bit.

Maybe Ben Healy and Jack Crowley
could better express their talents at Leinster. They've cut their teeth at a relatively conservative game, that's valuable experience.
If they want to get into Farrell's team and the way we want to play now they'll need to show what they can do when the ball goes through multiple phases, armchair ride and all.

Poor decision making and execution. 5 missed kicks, not committing enough players to the rucks, defensive organization bad.

Marius is always referring against WP. Just prior to that he completely ignored Kittsy eating dirt on his belly and penalized the Sharks rather afterwards. That led to the events that unfolded. It's easy to see only what you want to see

$harks should have poes klapped a 22 man Stomps.

With all their dominance in the scrums etc the $harks should have been 15 points better.

Ox, Bongi, Thomas and Am deserve better.

Whilst it is lovely to see two Scottish clubs at the top of the log, with my Scottish pessimism that isn't going to last long. Edinburgh have 6 away games against Leinster, Glasgow, Munster, Sharks, and with home games against Glasgow, Ulster, Connacht and Zebre. That is a tough run in, and Glasgow's is looking pretty tough as well.

Didn't see the match, but from the highlights you can't argue with the penalty tries.

Disappointing result, but it's not a loss so on to the next one.

Just prior to all the Sharks penalties and cards Sharks were in a commanding position at a scrum. Stormers were getting their arses handed to them. Scrum goes down by Kitshoff on the side opposite ref. Kitshoff is chewing grass....scrum continues. In a mess....Marius penalized Sharks.....from there penalty after penalty and 2 cards and 2 penalty tries

There were no single area of measurement where the saaks were weaker than the Stormers, yet they still lost.

The point is we should never have got to that point if Marius hadn't vokked us over in the scrum penalty. Kitshoff is not that small that you can miss him lying flat on his belly

Deon Fourie's card looked a bit soft to me.

Good to see our scrum working well. Haven't seen Kithsoff go backwards like that in a while.

It was crucial...from there the Stormers forced 2 yellows and penalty tries. From being on the Backfoot Stormers went on attack....it was ridiculous

I see in the news that Everitt is laying the blame for the loss at his own team's feet, siting poor discipline. I stand by my point that money is a massive problem at the saaks. The players are only looking out for number 1.

It would be damn interesting to see the $harks pack scrum against the Stomps pack without my Grandmother @3 for the Stomps.
