Either harden up or buy an AC unit. The choice is obvious.

Humidity has come back with a vengeance although temperatures are still lower than they have been. Sky's been completely grey for a little while now, hoping that means some more rain soon to clear the air a bit.

Constant rumbling of thunder here, storms springing up rapidly here, there and everywhere. Still 28 °C and humid though after the rain cleared

AC in a country that get's a bit uncomfortable for 5 days of the year?
Might as well rent a refrigeration truck and set up a couch and telly in the back.

Some good thunder and plenty of surface water running along the sides of the roads. Rain has passed already, but the outside air temperature has dropped nicely.

Nothing so far up the road in Salisbury - still meltingly hot

It's cleared up and surface water is already gone, but definitely a bit cooler. Think the clouds went south, so hard luck!

Still fairly warm inside. Probably needs a whole evening a blowing cool air through the flat, rather than just the 10/15 minutes of the storm.

To my north and west, less than 10 miles, rainfall recorders logged over 30mm rainfall in half an hour, here: only 3 mm. A pleasant 23 °C now and house noticeably cooling

That lot's over Surrey now.

Was cloudy all morning, raining since lunchtime and yet it certainly seems far warmer today.

Sprayed my cucumbers for mildew this am, bit of a waste of time really.

Blight weather.

Had my best sleep in what felt like ages last night. Overcast and pleasant now. Don't mind the lack of sun for the moment, had plenty over the last few weeks.

7 pages of whinging and counting.

It would be a better use of funds than putting it up your nose.

TBF that is bloody hot.

I'm just not sure why you'd complain, rather than put a 400 quid wall mounted AC unit up. Or even better, have a tradesman do it for you.

In my case I'd need a complete rewiring of all the house electrics first, it's flaky enough as it is. 100 year old+ homes suck sometimes.

Down to minus 2 here tonight but down in Hareaway territory they are getting minus 8s. Beaut days though.

We'd take a few of those degree thingies if you have any spare ones still

Incredibly dreary, but it's dry and a not too unpleasant day that's a bit of relief from baking.

Its 20 degrees and overcast where I am.

Perfect.

Hard to believe that a mere 2 days ago I was sweating my bollocks even while sat still.

Shit. Think I’ve become British ...

I’d rather moan about the weather and enjoy the inevitable Aussie reaction, than invest in air con.

I think that's it for summer looking at the forecast. Been overcast for 3 days now with no rain. Was hoping for a bit more sun for my tomatoes.

We've had some fairly Summer-y Septembers and Octobers in recent years. High teens/low twenties, plenty of sun and little enough rain that my dad is constantly moaning about having to water his garden.

True, I've just got back from a week canoeing and sh*t on rivers and the only relief was when we were actually swimming in the river. All other times it was various stages of dehydration and sun stroke.

Thank God for Britain's unpredictable weather. The p*ssing rain at the beach today was most welcome, yes indeed.
Don't worry. I've been drinking.

Just finished a shift in Reading East and I've never known it so humid. From the start to the finish of the shift the sweat was pouring off me like a waterfall, at one point I was genuinely worried I had some disease until I saw everyone was sweating just as much. Never been so glad to end a shift.

I've been in the Lake District all week and had the mother of storms last night and the rain lashing down all morning.
Has been mid 20s all week, some great walks around Windermere and Conniston.
It was so warm last Saturday that I was swimming in Conniston just to cool down.

We had days and days of pissy drizzle over the thurs/fri/sat/sun last week.
That damp, I was mopping water off the damp patch around the fireplace.

As the trees shall be heavy with leaves I suspect some will come down. There were a couple of dangerous gusts a few minutes ago.
