He has been good today; I think the last pen was right; but the late tackle call was bullshit

De Allende is already at near maximum extension when making contact with the ball, he's not in a realistic position to gather it, he's simply being disruptive.

Mehrtens is just being a cranky old man.
It’s a knock on. Not a penalty. You NH types are dicks.
If you knock the ball on wwhile making a genuine attempt to catch the ball then, yeah, no pen. If you do it in a way where re-gathering was never on the cards, you're deliberately interfering with possession in a way that kills the ball. Penalty totally warranted.

Fucking idiot, lucky that wasn’t a penalty.

But then we concede one anyway. Oh well, that’s the game.

Frans cant argue that one. he'd have to have won the ball before they hit the ground.

I think he thought he had and on replay, he might have a case. For me, just as much case for a pen against Mac for the same.

It was a soft one and I'd be fien with it not being given, but I can also see why it was.

The ref is correct. The laws are stupid.
There is a difference between running an attacking line and a defending line - DDA was full on attack. Laws don't see that, but refs can.

Repeated infringements on the line by the laws mean at least a warning and then a yellow, but the All Blacks never received a warning.

Ref should have chosen to either ref to the feeling of the match, or the letter of the law. They picked and chose between those in this second half.

Sympathise with this bit. ABs been cynical in their own 22 but I do wonder if SA should have turned the screw by going for the 5/7.
