Seemingly credible reports Newey is done with RB.
Here's to hoping Mclaren snag him.

Horner commenting on how great he is and being sad to see him go is fucking astonishing - any comment on the fact he's leaving because of you, ya dick flashing arsehole?

30 years ago one of the greatest drivers ( up there with Jim Clark IMHO ) lost his life at Imola.

Even after all this time the emotions that this day brings back are still pretty raw

Everyone remembers the anniversary of Senna's death...

very few acknowledge the first death that fateful weekend, Roland Ratzenberger also lost his life at the circuit, in qualifying.

Apart from Senna himself who had the Austrian Flag in his car - waiting to be unfurled , had he finished the race

Max Mosley, to his credit, went to Ratzenberger's funeral and said ad the time that people needed to remember that it wasn't only Senna that died that weekend.

Cannot believe that is 30 years ago. I loved F1 in the Mansell/Piquet/Prost/Senna era and it makes me so unbelievably sad just thinking about his death. Even though I never supported him he was a genius and his yellow helmet was so iconic.

Nice and wet for Canada start,
Interesting grid too from the best quali of the year. 0.02 separated the top 3, 0.3 for the top 7

George vs Max for turn 1 and LeClerc back in the bunch... Max to play it safe I reckon and challenge later in the lap.

That's the best race I've seen in a long time. Just action from start to end, incredible overtaking across the field, so much jeopardy with the rain.

The second half of this season is going to be fascinating, I don't think Max is going to have it all his own way.

Fun race, but after slowly coming to like Verstappen he was a complete dick today when Lando was trying to pass, they should come down on him for that.

Also, all the drivers grassing each other up constantly is a really shit look

Just Max being Max, no real surprise there... interesting that Red Bull are having some bad luck creep into their efforts with that slow tyre change being a rare mishap and that ultimately brought the later incident into play.

Lando showed some of that frailty he has with his comments later on.

Piastri pulled off a couple of stunning passes around the outside... with McClaren starting to show real pace now he is shaping up as a serious contender in his own right.

Ferrari might be ruing the decision to cut Sainz loose.

Read a few reports, caught some highlights...

you could call this race a clusterfuck for quite a few players.

McLaren shitting the bed and undercutting Piastri then pleading with Lando to give it back... fair for Piastri who did everything right and deserved the win but Lando does have a shot at the championship so you could argue should have been left to gain some points.

Max being Max which shouldn't surprise anyone, he was lucky to be able to continue after the kamikaze dive into Hamilton. His petulance on the radio was entertaining... he's under real pressure and not dealing with it well. Twat.

VCarb pit Ricciardo who started on new mediums way too early to cover others pitting to get off their softs, sabotaging one of their drivers' races yet again in what has become their trademark.

Stroll Inc continue their march backwards through the rankings with a car that gets worse with every update.

I can't stand Max, but him on the radio was hilarious. Absolutely fuming at his team, and then he hits the self-destruct button.

It was weak from McLaren.

There is no way a Vettel/RB, Verstappen/RB or Hamilton/Merc combo make that swap if the driver is second in the driver championship. It wasn't going to impact the constructors championship and could only hurt the very slim chances of Norris catching Verstappen.

Unless McLaren think Piastri is the better driver. But still, he's too far behind to make a serious challenge to Max.

All very honourable and all about 'the team', but I'm not sure it's going to work longer-term, if they want to compete for the championship. Only one driver can be champion.

Hopefully Max has a good sleep and is then made to listen to all his comments yesterday. He was beyond cranky, sounded like a few fuses burst - the move on Hamilton as an impatient example.
The lack of Perez's support is hurting RB, but Max has to get his temper together.

Similar behaviour to Sebastian Vettel on the track when things stopped going all his way. It's always somebody elses fault. "He ran me off" "He turned in on me" "Youy've given me a shit car"

Vettel would generally calm down and apologise afte the race for things that were obviously his fault. I don't think Max has that in him.

Max isn't go to admit he was in the wrong ever. He's already doubled down and said the Team need to do better for him and refuses to accept any responsibility for the accident, claiming Hamilton was to blame for his failed overtaking move.
Max Verstappen says Red Bull "need to do a better job" and he sees no need to apologise for a series of bad-tempered radio messages during the Hungarian Grand Prix....

Verstappen said: "I don't think we need to apologise. We just need to do a better job.... Asked for his response to criticism he was too disrespectful to his team, he used a swear word to suggest people should go away.....

Verstappen, who was called to the stewards to review the incident, said the Mercedes driver had caused it because he was breaking the rules by changing his line under braking.... Asked whether his frustrations with the race had spilt over to cause the incident, Verstappen said: “"I don't think so. I went for a move that was fully on. But then in the middle of the braking zone when I'm already committed to the move he keeps turning right"

He's always been an entitled prick who expects everyone else to get out of his way and gets angry if they dare to race him. He's not going to change now.

Is this race just a pretty big example of Max's lack of actual race talent?

He is brave/stupid/reckless when he doesn't have the fastest car. Admittedly - when he is racing from the front - he is incredibly fast and makes very few errors because there is no pressure on him. But put him in the pack with a similar or compromised car he is unable to stop the stupid stuff.

Hearing him squealing on the radio about how everything is unfair and that it's not his fault - it really is the reason he is such a disliked 'champion'.

I would love it if he fails to podium for the rest of the season.

To be fait to Max (*hack-spit*) Red Bull have made major changes to his car (sidepod and inlet design) which differs from the older design still driven (badly) by Perez. The Red Bull upgrades have slowed him down and he's upset. Poor baby.

Max is a very quick driver but he's been enabled every step of the way by his Dad, Red Bull and the FIA. Now he thinks he is untouchable and can say and do what he wants.

Now that the car isn't dominant he's having to work for it and the cracks in his personality are on show. Totally agree about the enabling.
