It's not a cure. It helps with cravings for food (and alcohol in many people too), however it still requires the person to "do the work" to lose weight on their own. Something fatties don't like to do....

So, a cure then.

It'll help people lose some weight over time, but if someone taking it doesn't make any substantial changes to their lifestyle in terms of exercise and what the food they do end up eating is comprise of, then there's only so much a suppressed appetite is going to achieve.

Bad news. I think she's come across as a bit self-important at times, but it's a sad indicator of where the Labour Party's at when some of her stances are seen as unwelcome.

Dangerous for Labour. A well known politician who offers full fat policies has devastated the Tories, every chance Corbyn will do so to Labour as well

Until now it's been a bad week for Labour, but Corbyn and his ilk sodding off might be worth the £5bn they just lost on not being able to corral their backbenchers.

Also one wonders how much longer FagRage will keep up support for proportional representation, fptp might start to suit him soon,

It'll be interesting to see if the BBC treat Corbyn as they did Farage during his UKIP years of a one man band political party.

I’ve lost the link now but Patrick Maguire (Labour leaning, well connected) wrote a really interesting article about their first year in power for the Times earlier this week. It starts with Sue Gray (remember when she was an all powerful genius) thanking the civil service for inviting the government ‘into their home’, and a *senior civil servant* taking a minister aside and telling them this was no way to run a country.

It gets clearer by the day they have no plan, they stand for nothing and they are politically trapped.

They are at least unlike the last lot less corrupt, but if anything they have less excuse for having no plan having had plenty of time to prepare for government and being less poisoned by reading the Daily Mail comment section.

I think I’ve said before but they remind me of most of what I see at C Suite level in British companies - people with no real clue what they’re doing or what they want beyond being important, who think wearing the sharp blue suit, holding a coffee and a laptop and making sure everyone knows they were working late is a substitute for their total lack of ability. Starmer doesn’t only not read his speeches, he finds out his policy platform has changed in these speeches he hasn’t read! If this is the best the adults in the room and the sensibles can muster we deserve a Farage/Corbyn future, this is an establishment that has completely failed

I agree with what you're saying but I do think the Labour leadership are absolutely terrified of the Sun and the Mail and are trying to placate people who will never vote for them anyway (these imagined Labour to reform switchers in Doncaster and media barons). They're falling into the Tories trap of government by focus group exactly because from day 1 of the election campaign its been obvious they don't have a plan.

Sorry, what I meant by that is a huge swathe of the Tory party spent their last few years in government convinced that the whole country is transgender and tearing down war memorials

The whole transgender thing mystified me. Yes, there were some issues, but it was a tiny, tiny fraction of the population that most people never even thought about, let alone clutched pearls at.

A few years later and every toilet is filled with predatory bearded ladies, dudes looking like ladies are regularly winning girls and womens tournaments and JK Rowling has gone from fairly beloved leftish type who wrote kid's books to mould brained frothing setting up slush funds to protect real women and expose trannies everywhere.
