The most important part starts this weekend. South Africa can get 3 teams in the top 8.
Leinster big test will be against the Stormers and Sharks. Munsters against the other two Saffer teams.

I really am looking forward to seeing the NH teams play in SA ... can you arrange for some fans to attend too ?OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 7:34 am The most important part starts this weekend. South Africa can get 3 teams in the top 8.

There are talks about 50%. But now the vokken Russians are first priority in their meetings.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:54 amOomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 7:34 am The most important part starts this weekend. South Africa can get 3 teams in the top 8.

Probably a stupid question but ... are SA sides contractually obligated to play in their stadiums ?OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:18 pmThere are talks about 50%. I know you spent a ton of money for the RWC building them; but the regular club attendances aren't close to filling them, & as a result the fans are getting the same experience that Edinburgh got in Murrayfield; i.e.None !
They'd be much better off with 10-15k capacity stadia, & having a bit of an atmosphere, than rattling around in a empty barn, & faced with a 2km walk for a drink.

The Stormers play on sunday at Danie Craven Stadium, Stellenbosch. Reason is the Cape Town Argus Cycle Tour and the streets will be cut off around CT Stadium. The Stormers always draw the most crowds in South Africa, then the Bulls at Loftus. The others may play at a school venue specially the $hark$.
The stadiums belong to the franchises, will be costly to move it to a club.

I thought the whole point of social distancing was to have 'em rattle around in an empty barn?fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 10:33 pmProbably a stupid question but ... are SA sides contractually obligated to play in their stadiums ?OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:18 pmThere are talks about 50%. If you pack them into a small room, it kind of defeats the purpose.
whatever gave you that idea?fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 10:33 pmProbably a stupid question but ... are SA sides contractually obligated to play in their stadiums ?OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:18 pmThere are talks about 50%. Reckon Bulls for this one. Several lads kicking their heels in the extended Ireland squad who'll be sorely missed.
Still, looking forward to the dry track. Should be a decent game.

They have thunder and lighting this time of year. Last Saturday the CC match in Bloemfontein had been interrupted.

Great to see Sikhumbuzo Notshe back in the mix. He was playing really well before he got crocked. He's such a good linking loose forward.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 4:56 am Teams

Reniel Hugo comes from good stock. His father Niel Hugo played for the Springboks against the World XV. Reniel is a decent player, probably not on Bok level though.
Don't know to much about Grobler except that he failed a drug test back in 2014 and was banned for two years.

Reniel Hugo is from Bellville and went to Paul Roos gim - Stellies Uni. Started his youth career at WP in 2008 and played for them to 2011
Gerbrandt Grobler is from Nelspruit and went to Affies but only played for the Bulls for one year as a youth and then relocated to WP and played for them from 2011 to 2014
So basically both WP products.
