Your newest purchase
Rather unnecessary purchase, but a good price and decided to indulge myself. Probably shouldn't have done, but ah well, got forgiveness from the wife (easier than permission!).
Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
It's not the best card for it to my knowledge, but I probably will do some. It's not why I bought it though. Got it for £450, and they're selling on ebay for £700. Not reselling though. Plan on selling my old one for £300 or so, and then perhaps doing some mining to try and make up the difference.
It's a big jump over my last card, makes playing VR games a bit more comfortable and means I can run most games on my monitors max refresh rate. And given how prices are, when I do get around to selling it on, I'll probably get a fair whack back for it (or by then my boy will want his own machine).

Get fucked... how many steaks could you fit on that overpriced piece of wank?
Just buy a cast iron griddle that fits over 2 burners on a hob for half the price and you'll thank me..

Bought a boss gt1000 core to go with my Line6 HX FX, to create a uber portable, super powerful guitar setup, that I can take everywhere and gig etc and use with soundbars, hifi's, pa systems etc, and to use as a audio interface in the studio.
Amazing power, great sound, a right bitch to control.

Although you’ll need a massive extractor above the hob when you do cook using it. And they are a bastard to clean at times.
Also don’t absent mindedly pick up the hot pan with gloves or some sort of cloth between your hands and the 900 million degree handles.
I had to prepare my cast iron skillet by baking just oul in it a few times to mature it before first use. Cleans very easily.ScarfaceClaw wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 11:48 amAlthough you’ll need a massive extractor above the hob when you do cook using it. And they are a bastard to clean at times.

Think I'll be having a wee bit of fun with this. It's electric as well - looking forward to hearing a ukulele with vicious overdrive turned up to 11.

I have a nice little Yamaha Guitarlele - bought it to teach the grandkids when they were little. Pretty decent little instrument and you can use normal guitar chords. Handy as a travel guitar. Not electric though - but it wouldn't take long to convert.

I'm just putting finishing touches to the LR Defender CC01 kit:Mr Bungle wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 7:56 pmI bought a new in box Frog around 10 years ago when they re-released. We'd had one as kids. It keep ripping front wheels off, and the replacement parts didn't seem up to it either. You'd hope they could take a few knocks. Seems they may not be made like they used to be.Hal Jordan wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 5:22 pmGetting harder to find "New In Box', too, so I was very impressed with the seller who, after two of my eBay attempts to purchase failing, did it directly with me and knocked a tenner off, too.
I say 'finishing', I mean more prevaricating as it's a really tricky paint job and I know I'll screw it up.
I've also got a lunchbox, knackered midnight pumpkin and an original Vanquish (well, new ESC and brushless as old ones died) in storage, waiting for kids to be old enough to potentially be interested. At which point I'll drive them round garden and refuse to let kids touch the controllers.

Once you get to 100 posts and I think 3/6 months on their forum, you get free delivery too. 1000 posts and you get access to the members market, plenty of great 2nd hand deals there, in a trustworthy environment.Glaston wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 3:11 pm lg 27gl850-b

OCUK typically include at least one small bag with most sales. It does sometimes get forgotten though, and those days become the worst days ever :(.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 9:52 amF**king ASUS didn't offer me Haribos. I'm gonna demand a rebate.

Dulux paint samples. 8 of them. All are “off white”
Painted them each carefully on the test wall in the dining room.
All rejected by the MD.

These things are bloody hard to get hold of, and even harder at a reasonable price. Got star wars squadrons on xbox game pass, been playing in virtual reality, and it's absolutely fantastic. Sitting in the cockpit of an xwing/tie fighter etc. Only issue was using the xbox controller, just didn't feel natural. So have been on the lookout, managed to grab one that didn't seem to be properly listed in ebay (bit less attention than most), for £29 inc delivery, and the part it's apparently missing, for £3. Even if I don't use it after squadrons, I should at least be able to sell it on for what I paid.
It's really going to send me back to my youth, when I used to play tie fighter, and later x-wing alliance (I was bloody good at that game). No idea how 16 year old me managed to afford a flight stick if the pricing was similar back then!

DO NOT PAINT COLOUR SAMPLES ON PLAIN WALLS.
Get some lining paper, paint squares of that and masking tape them to the walls. Otherwise the test squares will be visible even after you've painted the room properly. Sand the buggers back properly now you've done this
Edit. It's possible you may, just may get away with it with an off white, but I have learnt this the hard way

Left hand down a bit
I’ve got one of those as well. Bought for Elite:Dangerous, but I’ve spent some time playing Squadrons in VR as well. Must go back and finish the campaign.Raggs wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 2:13 pm

It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
I'm just constantly watching my ebay account waiting for it to be dispatched! I don't want to keep playing until I get it.Yr Alban wrote: ↑Sat Apr 24, 2021 12:41 pmI’ve got one of those as well. How is elite dangerous, it's struck me as a game where you need to grind a bit more to actually build up, but is it interesting grind? I like the idea of squadrons because it puts me in a ship and gives me a mission to enjoy flying. I don't mind some sightseeing stuff, but I want a reasonable amount of action.

That's a good tip also because you can also move the lining paper to different areas to see how it looks with the variable light in rooms.Happyhooker wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 2:18 pmDO NOT PAINT COLOUR SAMPLES ON PLAIN WALLS.
