And that's the bit that infuriates. The whole protocol is about player safety and so the card is decided on the randomness of the outcome rather than the danger in the action.

I feel like I've seen a couple, but they were falls from much greater heights and where only the falling player positioning their arms correctly prevented them from directly falling on their head/neck.

Yeah, I've seen them (I think) where the player's had the hands out to prevent the face plant, but never coming down completely sideways, like in this one today.

Awful match, 2 shit teams and a bizarre refereeing performance.
This bunker is nonsense, just an excuse for refs to cop out of decisions. The ref had all the angles and didn't call a shoulder to the head as red.
