Good one!!
Quite remarkably dense whataboutery
What if they had waved their todgers at the crowd while urinating on the pitch?
Then that would've been remarkably shitty

but things the players did in an empty stadium is a mile away from "taunting the crowd", and you don't need to be woke (ffs) to point out that taunting the crowd is a shitty thing to do. Even if it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, it's worthy of some criticism, but I wasn't expecting Team Kiwi to leap to Kohli's defence as if he were Elon Musk

The former, and given the clout the BCCI have the match will end up being recorded as a no result and they'll take the series.

Tbf to the Indian team having your coaching and support staff in isolation would be detrimental to your preparation and playing of the match. England already got 4 matches out of the series which is more than any of the "minor" cricketing nations gets

Azeem Rafiq statement released. Poor show not publishing the full report but the grapevine suggests some of the people implicated have the ability to seriously lawyer up.

Regardless, Yorkshire come out very poorly and a number of the accusations made are things I very much recognise from cricket so would not be shocked in the slightest if they did go on, notwithstanding not being proven.

Only released now after bowing to MP pressure.

In the early 90s at Headingley, England fans threw a pig's head into the Pak supporters and almost caused a riot.

I recall Yorkshire fans outside Taunton for a JPL game in the early 80s chanting "Yorkshire ain't got no n*ggers" in reference to Richards and Big Bird.

Leeds is probably the most racist supporter football club around. Even worse than Millwall. Had moments with Shef Wed scum too on more than one occasion.

During his second spell at the Club, a former player made references to Azeem Rafiq’s
weight and fitness that amounted to bullying.

load of bollocks, he is a professional sportsman who has a duty to be fit enough to play the game, if he rocks up fat and unfit, how can that be seen as bullying if he is being pulled up on it? Jesus Christ, if thats the standard we are all being held to, Andy Goode should lawyer up, he will make millions.

Winning a five match series in England is one of the few things India have never achieved.

Can see why it would be included if it's part of a broader pattern - a lot of discriminatory behaviour is death by a thousand cuts.

This would be even more so the case if no other fatties get the same treatment he did.

Thinking about it a little further - I know in the pro game and the pathway to it there was/is a stigma that British Pakistanis are lazy and won't put the effort in. May have been the weight comments had that slant to them.

Depends on how it was done but it the 2nd version, then I agree with you.

It's one thing to properly bring an employee to account over a failure to perform in his role: in this case "We are concerned about your fitness".
And another to simply bully him: "Stop eating all the samosas you fat f**ker".

We have a painful and awkward episode going on in South African Cricket. A series of hearings on transformation issues have exposed a fair bit of racism and backward attitudes amongst the Graeme Smith and earlier era white cricketers. A lot of it seems to be reactionary bs from not good enough cricketers like Paul Adams and a few others. But it has come out that there was a fair bit of substance behind some of the charges.

This English dude seems, on the surface to be a bit of sensitive bloke but having empathy for a brown guy coming into a predominantly white environment takes a fair bit of EQ which most twenty something sportsmen won't have. These guys would have grown learning history about their ancestors being invaded by white men in redcoats. Paul Adams ancestors were enslaved by Dutchmen in Asia. I'm not a big snowflake type but I have some kind of understanding of how POC think.
