Ossoff's got this. There will be a lot of GOP crying, but at some point they will probably have to realise that all the mad shit they've been doing isn't helping at the ballot box.

This Senate run off was theirs to lose. And they managed it.

They could both win by one gazillion votes each we all know the loonies will fight the result every which way but loose.

Margin doesn't really matter, it's just for the ability to get a recount; but the Presidential election showed that Georgias counts are very accurate, & well within 0.5%

I know logic went out of the window a long time ago but these must be the most closely vetted election counts ever surely?

I remember being a little surprised that, when the "Million MAGA March" took place a month or two ago, Trump appeared to show no interest and went golfing instead. He drove past them waving with a smug little grin on his face and I was surprised that he didn't seem to be egging them on.

In retrospect, I suppose that, although he might have wanted them to rise up, but he didn't want to be in danger himself.

I guess that, if he wants the job done, he has to go some way towards leading it.

All going hilariously well in Georgia

Republican election official in an interview:

"Trump is 100% responsible for this. While he may inspire people on the Republican side, he really pisses off people on the Democrat side"

I've generally steered clear of Trump's Twitter feed, but have just had a quick look.

Genuinely unfathomable that the guy is in the position of power that he is. His feed sounds like some loon having a massive meltdown prior to a bored permabanning.

I know we all know it already. But he's genuinely off his rocker.

The tell all stories of his time in the White House in years to come will be a hoot.

He's done well though and the GOP are pretty hitched to his horse and the base he's mobilised. Will be interesting to see what they do next

Trump has been a godsend for the Democrats - he has now lost the Presidency and both houses for the republicans. He has also split the Republican party and the schism will only increase now over the next year as the moderates and the Loony Trump fringe fight out who controls the party. As the recriminations start and the real story of inside the WH emerge as more and more of those who sold their souls for Trump seek redemption and avoid prosecution it will get increasingly fractious.

Pull up your seat, grab a beer and some popcorn and enjoy the show, it starts tomorrow!

PS Where are all the UK based Trump supporters now? They all seem to have gone back underneath their rocks!

and this is going to become ever more apparent over the next couple of hours, & then the next couple of years.

Just today there's a divide, at every level of the GOP in the Senate, & Congress; on the simple ceremony of counting the ballots; & the shitgibbon, has $250m & is threatening to primary against anyone in the GOP that doesn't make a fool of themselves for him.

The inevitable consequence of Trumpism

Every single one of his current supporters is a fucking scumbag, and that goes double for the ones who aren't in the USA.
