The thing is, it is always difficult to deny those types of accusations.

He has been accused of saying 1 thing 10+ years ago and then saying that Kane Williamson could bowl off spin (which he could) to hurt the victim.

He's a prick and some of his tweets are pathetic but until Rashid or Ajmal comment we are purely judging on what we think of that person and his previous behaviours. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he said it.

The Kane Williamson part of the story feels daft. When putting together a T20 team a class player who can turn his arm for a few overs is a big asset. It was bound to be a consideration. To leap straight to racism when the only other accusation against Vaughan seems to be one comment a few years prior seems a big leap.

Seems like Hutton is trying to take them all down with that statement which is probably what should happen!

Rafiq believes that in recommending the signature of Williamson, I was attacking him and that I was doing so on grounds of race.

Rana Naved-ul-Hasan has corroborated Azeem Rafiq's claim that Michael Vaughan made a racist comment to a group of Asian players - a claim which Vaughan "totally denies".

The former England captain said he was named in Yorkshire's Rafiq report.

Vaughan is alleged to have told a group of Asian players, including Rafiq and Naved: "Too many of you lot, we need to do something about it."

Ex-Pakistan bowler Naved told ESPN he also heard the alleged comment.

Michael Vaughan has been stood down from BBC 5 live’s Tuffers and Vaughan Show on Monday after two cricketers said they heard the former England captain make racist comments while playing for Yorkshire in 2009.

Yeah, totally get that, but there was just something in the wording of it, which is clearly by his legal people, that just didn't sit right. Hard to put a finger on it. I think it would be ludicrous to call him a racist but that particular part just seems odd to me.

just fucking lol if you don't think he's done enough to cause genuine change, Yorkshire simply can't whitewash this now and getting a settlement does not stop Rafiq from putting pressure on them to change

No idea of context, some limited mitigation if it turns out the chap is a spuds fan - given they called themselves the yid army at that point - but didn't think it was used even in that context. Outright rotten if he meant it in any other way.
