Just seen a headline on the BBC Sports site - "NZ batter Taylor to end Test career". Couldn't they have just asked him politely?

NZ against Bangladesh up in 20 minutes

https://cricstream.me/new-zealand-vs-ba ... e/stream-1
Tom Latham will be leading New Zealand in their first home Tests since winning the World Test Championship. He will have his entire frontline pace attack available, including Trent Boult, who skipped the India Tests because of bubble fatigue, and is also nearing 300 Test wickets. A successful start against Bangladesh can set the tone for the upcoming home summer for New Zealand, when they also face South Africa in two WTC Tests in February.

But it is entirely a different reality for Bangladesh. A struggling side, they have arrived in New Zealand following a dismal series against Pakistan at home. Losing by an innings in the second Test in Dhaka, where two-and-a-half days were lost to rain, showed how poorly prepared they were to take on quality opposition. However, they had a few bright spots in the practice match against New Zealand XI earlier this week, though the quality of opposition will be very different come the first Test.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl.

66/1 at lunch. Difficult first hour but a lot less venom in the bowling/pitch for the 2nd hour

Is it? Personally, I find a really tight battle between the bat and ball to be fascinating, though it would piss me off if the scoring pace remained that slow for an entire day. But it doesn’t, does it?

Try selling it to a 10 year old, versus the short forms.

I grew up with the likes Botham, Gower, Richards etc, on free-to-air, & me & my brothers playing against the Prods across the road  , on the corner green

Conway has just gone past his batting average so anything more increases his fine 63

So close - the bail has to separate from the stump and it is by a fraction of a second. Young is run out for 52

Taylor off the mark.

If he does better than a duck in his last innings, can we say in that sense he’s better than Bradman? Maybe something for PR when the time comes and especially if grievous is online.

Clearly. Bradman was a flat track bully who didn't have to face the likes of Bryce McGain or Dougie Bollinger

258/5 as Blundell plays onto his foot and then onto the stumps.

That's it for the day

With a test average of over 40, he's had fewer off days than most NZ batsmen. Including most from ND...

I'm happy with that total at the end of the day after scoring bugger all in the first hour.

Conway's a machine.

It’s early days for Ravindra but he has been disappointing with the bat (other than holding on in the first test in India).

Hopefully Jamieson can support Nicholls.

Southee can’t hang around.

They are costing Henry Nicholls a double-century here, Enz.

Was it he who survived a caught behind when the Bangers didn't appeal? Jammiest batter I have seen either way

Except for that shot - gone for 75 and all out 328

328.

You would take that batting first but we were placed to do better.
