URH, I've not seen anything on that. What's the story there.
Surely they are not comparing funerals of an innocent 14 year old with a man who is allegedly a serial murderer?
It should be used as a weapon. Real leaders do not follow idiots over a cliff.

SF members who attended the funeral were pictured posing with AKs afterward.
The absolute state of them. How they managed to position themselves as the progressive alternative to the tired old parties is mind boggling.
Pubs opening in England today. Going to be a disaster.

Its almost a shame that we formed a stable gov given what the shinners have done recently. If the gov lasts 5 years all of this will be forgotten
Edit, saw the fb posts. Truly shocking

Yeah went out in Thursday to the local for dinner and hopped off a couple of pints of Genius. Currently out for breakfast as well
I think back to the build up to the election and think of everyone on Twitter going on and on about how awful FF and FG are and how SF would build a brave new world.HighKingLeinster wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 7:55 am Those pictures public Nols?

People like Blindboy talking about voting left and shitting on about social justice, roundly dismissing the referendums passed under FG/Labour, ignoring SF's past and economic illiteracy.
On election day you have "up the RA", then yer-one from Kerry being anti-vax. Now the mass gathering at the funeral and dickheads posing with assault rifles.
It's a cult of personality and ideology which exists independent of facts. Varadkar being a "Tory" and MLMD somehow being a champion of the people, just because she's a woman.
Looks like political naivety. It might have blown up anyway but she really needs a lesson in social media. She did not return calls and a statement was later issued by a department spokesperson. "The project at Drumclough National School is an Emergency Works Scheme project for Universal Access works in this school," it said. "All school building programme applications are considered and approved by a technical team within the department. Where a minister or other public representatives enquire about the project, they are informed after a decision is made."

They're only in power a wet week, & the thick plums are falling all over themselves to look unfit to run a corner shop
Cowen didn't think he needed to inform his party leader that he'd been done for multiple driving offences; & Kelleher decides that he doesn't need to self-isolate.
Well done lads in taking the focus off SF acting like entitled shits, chapeau !

Anyone else hearing about loads of pigdog and septic tourists wandering around city centres with no distancing or more importantly, no isolating?
The spoons is open, anyone with half a brain could have predicted the outcome. They were apparently queuing up at 6.00 am in my town for their morning fix of spesh or wifebeaterUncle fester wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 5:38 pm Anyone else hearing about loads of pigdog and septic tourists wandering around city centres with no distancing or more importantly, no isolating?
Looks like great craic. The wan dancing in the background will regret that in about 4 weeks when we are a few hundred cases a day and the Karen's are losing their knickers online. It will be 'Dame lane dancing bird' this and 'Stags Head dancing bint' that. My missus is now refusing to go away next month as she heard the mammies in the school yard are waiting to moan about anybody who has a holiday. Along with the local councillor looking for social distance wardens to go around busy bodying the living shit out of it I actually think this is the preamble to something apocalyptic

The bar owners are getting a lot of abuse, but I do not see too many people who "obviously" bought from a bar.
There are no pint glasses, but there might be a paper one. Otherwise between the two videos it is bottles and cans. Most probably bought from supermarkets around the corner. Ther are practically no drinkers at all in the 2nd vid.
There is an anti drinking culture who are seemingly allowed to operate without criticism. If I was a twatter user I would be all over them.

I think the BLM crowd are in danger of becoming a parody, as they increasingly stray into thought police territory
Fair play to that F1 driver today ..... you can disagree with BLM activism without being racist
What’s happened to today’s youth? When did they become so fecking dull? Is it all down to social media?

Surely we should be refinancing and extending the terms and tenor of every penny of our debt at this point TSG?The sun god wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 10:40 am Ireland Inc. looking to raise more money through an auction this Thursday...... 7,10 and 30 year maturity.

A good marker for where the markets see Ireland, especially as DoF are projecting a budget deficit of between €24 bn and € 30 bn this year. The sun god wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 10:40 am Ireland Inc. looking to raise more money through an auction this Thursday...... 7,10 and 30 year maturity.

And that will be small compared to our bigger neighbour to the East of us, and the bigger EU economies.

We are though. You might have noticed that the maturities on some of our recent bonds have been extended way out the curve into 20 and 30 year duration's. This is a very new funding model for Ireland as previously we would have only issued paper out to 10 year.Locke Lamora wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 10:49 amSurely we should be refinancing and extending the terms and tenor of every penny of our debt at this point TSG?The sun god wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 10:40 am Ireland Inc. looking to raise more money through an auction this Thursday...... 7,10 and 30 year maturity.

As our redemption's become prompt it looks as though NTMA are extending as much as they can into the future. How much they can get done as a percentage of debt/renewals will depend on the speed that our buyers can extend their limits for..... not too many banks would have a 30 year sovereign credit limit for a small country like ours.

The irony is that the weight and responsibility of the extended debt will fall on the 18-35 yr olds of today, who are most vociferous about big government and massive social spending.
While that generation call for universal basic income, housing as a human right, 4-day weeks, free medical cards for all etc etc, they are the same ones whose state pensions will be revoked by the IMF/EU in 30 years time, if all this “extend and pretend” activity goes badly wrong.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t do it...... I am worried however that the electorate has zero clue about the potential implications.
Who knows ..... economic growth and inflation might take care of the issue over the coming decades?
I’m just worried about the increasing frequency (and amplitude) of all these economic shocks we’ve been experiencing over the last 30 years.

when you are dealing in the markets, there is always a downside risk. In theory, euro interest rates could continue their voyage in negative yield territory making any bonds we lock in now look rather expensive with the benefit of hindsight.
In a more abstract scenario , I don't particularly like the very long term funding model as it makes prudent monetary decision making a little more ' pie in the sky'..... as an individual, you would never lock in all your borrowings into a mortgage like timeframe...... it just makes the idea of borrowing much more remote and non personal.

I see the mayor of Lisbon intends to ban AirBnB from the city after the Covid crisis is over.

This is why left wing economists think that debt is good and borrowing is a tool to fix all societies ailments. In their own minds they have divorced the 'national debt' from any notion of personal/taxpayer responsibility.
The same cohort will then blame the banks, capitalism, 'the rich', or 'FFG' when it all goes tits up and austerity inevitably ensues.
Just look at how little airtime/analysis the PS pay and pensions bill gets here, when anyone in the media is discussing our current levels of indebtedness.

I wonder is it possible to get to a New Zealand situation, where we're virus free, & we've the systems in place at ports & airports to test everyone coming into the country ?

The issue (everywhere) is poor enforcement of planning regimes.
AirBnB offers a good service but everywhere you go there are local governments failing to react quickly enough to its existence.
