Their sympathisers justifying the attendance at the funeral by using Noah Donahoe’s funeral is what pisses me off the most
URH, I've not seen anything on that. What's the story there.
Surely they are not comparing funerals of an innocent 14 year old with a man who is allegedly a serial murderer?
I think back to the build up to the election and think of everyone on Twitter going on and on about how awful FF and FG are and how SF would build a brave new world.HighKingLeinster wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2020 7:55 am Those pictures public Nols?
Its almost a shame that we formed a stable gov given what the shinners have done recently. If the gov lasts 5 years all of this will be forgotten
Edit, saw the fb posts. Truly shocking
Looks like political naivety. It might have blown up anyway but she really needs a lesson in social media. She did not return calls and a statement was later issued by a department spokesperson. "The project at Drumclough National School is an Emergency Works Scheme project for Universal Access works in this school," it said. "All school building programme applications are considered and approved by a technical team within the department. Where a minister or other public representatives enquire about the project, they are informed after a decision is made."
Yep. A lot of the same characters appeared on my Twitter timeline going on about voting for Corbyn's Labour and SF.iarmhí wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2020 10:14 am They're like Corbyn's party when it existed : woke, populist, magic money tree , anti semitic
The very left if the greens are the same.

Lesson 101 should be in not being thick.
The spoons is open, anyone with half a brain could have predicted the outcome. They were apparently queuing up at 6.00 am in my town for their morning fix of spesh or wifebeaterUncle fester wrote: Sun Jul 05, 2020 5:38 pm Anyone else hearing about loads of pigdog and septic tourists wandering around city centres with no distancing or more importantly, no isolating?
The bar owners are getting a lot of abuse, but I do not see too many people who "obviously" bought from a bar.
I had a little chuckle tbhGav wrote: Sun Jul 05, 2020 9:38 pm Are you evil if you laugh at the punchline? https://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory ... dlines_hed
Surely we should be refinancing and extending the terms and tenor of every penny of our debt at this point TSG?The sun god wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2020 10:40 am Ireland Inc. looking to raise more money through an auction this Thursday...... 7,10 and 30 year maturity.

A good marker for where the markets see Ireland, especially as DoF are projecting a budget deficit of between €24 bn and € 30 bn this year. The sun god wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2020 10:40 am Ireland Inc. looking to raise more money through an auction this Thursday...... 7,10 and 30 year maturity.

We are though. You might have noticed that the maturities on some of our recent bonds have been extended way out the curve into 20 and 30 year duration's. This is a very new funding model for Ireland as previously we would have only issued paper out to 10 year.Locke Lamora wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2020 10:49 amSurely we should be refinancing and extending the terms and tenor of every penny of our debt at this point TSG?The sun god wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2020 10:40 am Ireland Inc. looking to raise more money through an auction this Thursday...... 7,10 and 30 year maturity.

If not now, when?
The irony is that the weight and responsibility of the extended debt will fall on the 18-35 yr olds of today, who are most vociferous about big government and massive social spending.
As am I....very good point.Locke Lamora wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2020 11:19 amThe irony is that the weight and responsibility of the extended debt will fall on the 18-35 yr olds of today, who are most vociferous about big government and massive social spending.
While that generation call for universal basic income, housing as a human right, 4-day weeks, free medical cards for all etc etc, they are the same ones whose state pensions will be revoked by the IMF/EU in 30 years time, if all this “extend and pretend” activity goes badly wrong.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t do it...... I am worried however that the electorate has zero clue about the potential implications.
Who knows ..... economic growth and inflation might take care of the issue over the coming decades?
I’m just worried about the increasing frequency (and amplitude) of all these economic shocks we’ve been experiencing over the last 30 years.
when you are dealing in the markets, there is always a downside risk. In theory, euro interest rates could continue their voyage in negative yield territory making any bonds we lock in now look rather expensive with the benefit of hindsight.

In a more abstract scenario , I don't particularly like the very long term funding model as it makes prudent monetary decision making a little more ' pie in the sky'..... as an individual, you would never lock in all your borrowings into a mortgage like timeframe...... it just makes the idea of borrowing much more remote and non personal.

I wonder is it possible to get to a New Zealand situation, where we're virus free, & we've the systems in place at ports & airports to test everyone coming into the country ?
