This is a great arm-wrestle. Defences are good and only top class moves are creating the break.
35 minutes and Chiefs lead 7 to 5.
Tupou Vaa'i showing some great moves
Both Tupou and a hobbled Parkinson are playing well for their respective teams.

I don't like this golden point business.
Just play on for 10 minutes last man standing wins.

Well I enjoyed game, don't like golden point, a draw is ok. Gee Frizell is playing well for the Clan as is Luke Jacobson and DMac for Chiefs . Pretty good all round game I thought!

That try he got when he simply should not have made the line was a sensational mid field run.

Yep turns 20 this month I think. Had a great debut - the Canes hardly used him at first receiver tbh but he made a few timely injections into the game. His first touch was brilliant - he defused a tricky kick through from the Crusaders and then made 20m back through traffic. Didn't shy on defence either. Would prefer to see him develop against some soft Aussie/SA sides but he's shown plenty of nerve. Hope they can stick with him and start giving him more opportunities to actually run the show.

That's a very liberal definition of 'chest'. Laumape was lucky not to see red (glad he didn't!)

Do you think he jumped ahead of Hunt as the #2 first five for the ABs?

Did you only watch the Chiefs? (9 of them seems, well, a bit blinkered...) The backline, in particular, is just weird — Stevenson was awful, Laumape was as one-dimensional as ever and got yellow-carded, McKenzie was at 15, not 10, and the rest were average. In the forwards, Taukei'aho couldn't hit a barn door with his throwing and had his worst game of the season. A team that better reflects the round's performance would be:
15. Jordan
14. Bridge (even though he played 11)
13. Lienert-Brown (only a fraction ahead of Fainga'anuku)
12. Havili
11. Goosen
10. Mo'unga
9. Smith
8. Luke Jacobson
7. Ardie Savea
6. Shannon Frizell
5. Sam Whitelock
4. James Blackwell
3. Lomax
2. Taylor
1. Numia
16. Coles 17. de Groot 18. Ta'avao 19. Dunshea 20. Grace 21. Weber 22. Ioane 23. Barrett

OK admittedly my enthusiasm for the Chiefs revival may be a tad over the top, but I sincerely believe McKenzie was the best first receiver of the round, even if he was wearing 15. But Jordan at fullback? Nah, he's been average lately.

Cullen Grace is an impressive young player, but he's not great at no.8 for mine. Hope they move him back to blindside.
