To cap the w/e off for them, their women lost 53-0 to France.
Wasn’t it professionals against amateurs?
I think the French women are semi pro?
I don’t know tbh, just repeating what I heard on the telly, which may be dangerous.

Welsh rugby is very strange.
In a way so is English rugby. On the basis of this weekend England should be able to beat Wales comfortably even from 14-0 down. It’s an odd game.
That doesn't make any sense whatsoever

Ulster have a good mix of powerful forwards, & fast & evasive backs.
If they ditch Burns, & get a good replacement; they'll be a team to be reckoned with

Quins getting battered as expected, no way we would win this in any case, but Lord Almighty, the ref has made up his mind.
Edit: Ah, it's Poite. That would explain it.

Some of the thicker posters on the Quins board were getting all high and mighty at those of us who suggested this selection was a craven sacrificing of a tournament we could win. "There's internationals in that team" "loads of talented players"
Fucking morons. Pick a second team against a good European side and you'll deservedly get thrashed. Embarrassing.

What is even more stupid is that with no relegation, why TF wouldn't you give this your best shot? I saw your teamsheet and immediately changed my FR pick from Quins to Nordies.

We're fourth, trying to keep our top four spot and trying to win the league. Relegation has nothing to do with it.

So nothing to lose if no relegation. Unless you are suggesting Quins have thrown the match and should be sanctioned in the manner we used to propose for French clubs doing the same.

Torq, what I am saying is very clear. Relegation has nothing to do with it, regardless of whether there's relegation this season or not. We are at the other end of the table. We have chosen to throw this match with a rank 2nd+3rd choice selection in order to keep our 1st XV fresh for the run in for top four.

Like I said, Poite.
Steamed about how we have shit canned this competition. We have a decent history in the second Euro Cup competition, and simply throwing out the team we have to get beaten like a government mule is so frustrating.

Steele tackles someone, falls away, gets back to his feet, goes in on the ball. "No clear release" says Poite. You blind French twat, says me.

Yup. And you will recall that forever, when it was the preserve of Fre clubs doing this, my view was that clubs should be excluded the following season. It undermines the comp: and I know this one is a farce anyway but that's a separate issue. I kinda sympathise with the Mickey Mouse comp but there clubs should be given the chance not to compete.
{EDIT} As per Agen (they got 2 seasons).

Yeah.
The made a shite decision on the balance of the team; & turned what could have been a net benefit to a number of younger players; into something that might actually scar them instead.

When it comes to team selection - this is an exceptional year. Teams have squads they need to keep in shape; they have academies that they need to bring through; they have league matches that they need to win. Without the prem cup and the a league it's literally impossible to square the circle and something has to give. Different clubs will have differnet answers at the moment for what they "give".
Hopefully next season we will have enough "junior" matches to satisfy all these requirements

We're a team in excellent form with an outside chance of premiership success, a decent chance of the knock outs at least, and we had a great shot at the challenge cup. Why sacrifice our best shot at a trophy? It's pathetic. Some rotation could've been acceptable but that was surrendering the tournament entirely from the off.
