Well, Toga and JPB have affirmed their view over the last few weeks. Even Keith, bless him, registered there as "White Ranker".
I refer you back to my previous post, if people take those characters as being representative of the wider rugby community that says more about them than us.

About the history of moderation. I have said it has improved in the last two years since Blindcider and Openside were sacked. Let's hope that trend continues.

Rhetorical question, I assume.

That said, was it Blindcider or SASP that stepped down?

I remember he had a massive sob story about how he didn't want to be a moderator, claimed he'd retired, but then continued to troll and ban people nevertheless.

If you look at the heart of PR, the Home Unions are dominant in terms of posters and moderators. In Britain the game is (or was) for the elite and they are mostly white and conservative.

I've been amazed at the contrast between PR and F365. At F365 they are fully aware of the rugby demographic in Britain. A bunch of privileged Eton boys chasing eggs and playing soggy biscuit 24/7 is their view of rugby.

There are a few PR posters who have been very active at F365 and haven't done much to change this view. Toga and JPB at the front.

There has been a welcome shift at PR over the last two or three years though with decent people holding RWNJs to account and it is their behaviour which is now on the outer. This is also seen in the wider culture wars, which are slowly being won by the socially conscious left.

Long may that continue.
Do us all a favour and fuck off there then.

As far as "retiring" from being a mod on PR goes, those who voluntarily stopped doing it were Newbie when we were logging in as PR (but then he "hired" Jake and I so he done good); Sefton, Openside, Blindcider, SASP and me (I hope I haven't left anyone out). There have been a couple from the Yank time zone who I had repeatedly tried to get them to volunteer but they wouldn't.

I guess that made them perfect for the job.

For the last 6 or 7 years I have just done an admin role (password and name changes, weeding out spammers, Toga and Mitty). My claim to fame (like those who nominated Supreme Court judges) is that none of the people who I touted for the role have left.

That was so hilarious. Kovana had a breakdown of some kind (or I had really pissed him off) and the only way to stop him being stupid was to ban his IP as he had built up multiple logins - turns out the whole freaking island is routed through that IP address.

If I was going to have a headstone, that would be on it.

Of course he was, why are you bothering to ask? I joined in 2005 and jrp67 was a mod at the time. Sefton and him were the big dogs and mods of the forum.

Most people didn't know jrp was a mod; he never mentioned it, and his moderation never attracted suspicion. As I recall it only became public knowledge after he decided to stop being one.

Coog and I were never mods. Given you've made complaints about the PR mods on this thread, it might be a good idea to get a firm grasp of which posters you are complaining about.

Wow! So much of this is factually wrong. The Welsh posters are certainly not privileged and conservative. The English posters are mostly left leaning, with the "working class Essex" bunch who are the most vocal conservative supporters. And that is a trend in the past few years, most old school PR English posters are clearly left wing or centralist.

Nah, for years jrp and sefton were accused of being secret mods before they were officially outed. There were far to many convent actions taken in their favour, despite their behaviour in any given argument. It was obvious.
