if my neighour had a camera that covered the shared entrance to our houses I really think I would be grateful. I certainly wouldn't worry about it.Line6 HXFX wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 6:53 pmIf you were ever responsible for a fair few peoples safety and security...and lived in place where your possessions are in danger..constantly, and where people filming you entering and leaving your property is a massive issue, you would be miffed too.Openside wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 11:47 pmWhat is your vehement objection to being filmed.? I might even give a little wave if I was putting the bins out. as for the 1 mile detour to avoid being filmed for 2 seconds screams 'up to something dodgy' to me....Line6 HXFX wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 10:38 am Its interesting, that the laws about filming people in public are essentially about not having to ask everyone in the background of a photo you took in Disneyland for permission, but is now translated to "it is ok to stick a static camera and film everyone outside your property, and film people going in an out of their homes".
Just one camera can completely change peoples behaviour, where I have to turn right instead of going left and go a mile or so out of my way..and the long way around if I don't want to be spied on and have my day to day behaviour monitored.
Feel sorry for the bloke upstairs who is seriously ill, on the sick and is withering away, poor bastard has nerve damage in his back that is stopping nutrients going to his bottom half..but who used to like to try to help with the bins if he was feeling up to it.. as he thought he was doing a little bit to help here. Feel part of the community.
He felt just slightly less than useless for 20 minutes every week. Stuff like that is important to people.
Now he has a camera in his face, so doesn't do it anymore.
It is just the general "this is what I think I will bring to my neighbourhood, I won't help with the bins, but be completely fucking ignorant...not get to know people, but judge them anyway,..and to top it off will shove a camera in everyones face, and if they don't like it tough titty".
The tides of selfishness, creeping fascist fuck'wittery, miserabalism, snobbishness, self serving contempt and meanspiritedness are just super high right now.
If I put a camera filming you going in and out your property, with you not knowing who the hell could stream it or watch it...how would you feel?

its not that unusual for 'neutral' pundits to be included on a panel, its just that fans from the other home unions notice more if the 'neutral' happens to be English. The BBC used Michael Cheika as one of their pundits last year, and I don't recall anyone complaining about his presence.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 2:25 pmThere's a perception, right or wrong, that in order for the casual English viewer to watch, they need a recognisable English rugby figure involved.

People who experience the first properly decent day of the year and think "I have to mow the lawn". Quite aside from the fact people should be letting their lawns grow out for the sake of our wildlife, all I wanted to do is sit outside and read in the sun (start paying back that vitamin D debt), listen to the birds, but at least 4 near neigbours decided that they just had to fire up their mowers and fill the air with that machine buzz.
Jesus, just enjoy it while we've got it, by the end of the week temperatures halve, we go back to being overcast and it won't matter if the lawn's trimmed down.

Yeah, but you know...no offense, you are a fascist fuck, who's one desire in this world is worried citizens filming eachother, going about their law abiding business, whilst being terrified of each other.Openside wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 12:23 amif my neighour had a camera that covered the shared entrance to our houses I really think I would be grateful. People moaning about the price of something that they didn't have to buy but chose to do so anyway. Apparently a Boohoo (?) coat costs more in some shop than it does in some other shop and Something Must Be Done About It. Have these people not heard of shopping around?

Informed them recently my auld dear passed away and wanted to cancel her gas and electricity. I got a cheque for £90 and a bill for £40Insane_Homer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 12:30 pm British Gas
leaving for another supplier - currently on fixed. ending this month.
Minor annoyance. Have to give final meter reading despite having smart meters.
First "Bill", I owe them ~£450, even after just last month paying in an extra £70 to cover more elec being used at home with kids etc per their own calculations.
Oh, no that's for the last 3 or 6 months, it's still being calculated, they've not taken into account any of my payments for the last 3-6 months.
4 days ago I get emailed final energy statement - "Nothing to pay, it says. They actually owe me ~£25" - excellent!
Yesterday, get the same email, same final bill with the same date on it - 6 March, but now I owe them £181.90? Also included 2x early exit fees of £30. despite Ofgem rule clearing stating that exit fees don't any for the last 49 days of fixed contract.
Anyhow, time to call up and get this sorted out, 25 mins in the queue, "Good morning can I have you account number please?" "Yes, sure, it's 851...." CLICK! Disconnected.
Call back, in the queue, 22 minutes this time, then it starts to ring, but I get voicemail msg and another CLICK disconnect.
Fuck em. DD cancelled. they want any more money from me, they can call me and I'll hang-up a few times too half way through the call...
Depends on where the film is set. In Northern Europe we are used to dusk being a long and drawn out thing, but in the tropics it’s a lot faster. When I lived in North Queensland, when it got dark it was as if someone had switched off the sun.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
I am only happy to be filmed because I look fabulous in my jack boots...Line6 HXFX wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 9:01 pmYeah, but you know...no offense, you are a fascist fuck, who's one desire in this world is worried citizens filming eachother, going about their law abiding business, whilst being terrified of each other.Openside wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 12:23 amif my neighour had a camera that covered the shared entrance to our houses I really think I would be grateful. Cunts who burn wood in urban areas, forcing their vile, polluting poison into my house unless I seal it tighter than a nun's chastity belt. Absolute cunts.

People who don't appreciate the indirect benefit to their wallet and the economy of taking actions which mitigate and could even reduce (if pursued further) the impact of climate change...
Someone on the news who got no offers with her flat on the market at OIEO £400,000 saying it's sad that if she's forced to sell at £375,000 she won't be getting what the property is really worth.
It's really worth what someone's prepared to pay for it.

Especially those that burn any old shit they can find it in. They go full NRA cold dead hands though if you suggest they're being assholes.
So you microwave your BBQ meat then?Hal Jordan wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 3:05 pm Cunts who burn wood in urban areas, forcing their vile, polluting poison into my house unless I seal it tighter than a nun's chastity belt. Absolute cunts.

I have never barbecued a single thing in my life, and have no real desire to start. I have an oven, grill and griddle pan in the comfort of my kitchen if I need to cook meat.

In fairness, the UK doesn't give us that many days per year where cooking outside is a good idea and frankly with population density being what it is most people setting a fire, whether it's for BBQ purposes or not, are being inconsiderate arseholes. If you've got your own estate or no near neighbours, then go for it.
A surprising number of people do seem to start fires in their gardens for non food-related reasons and that baffles the shit out of me.

Also woodburners in houses. DIY programmes have a lot to answer for in popularising these flithy objects.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 2:14 pm In fairness, the UK doesn't give us that many days per year where cooking outside is a good idea and frankly with population density being what it is most people setting a fire, whether it's for BBQ purposes or not, are being inconsiderate arseholes. Our next door neighbours have been having an extension built for the last five months. Almost every day for the first three months, the builders would start a bonfire on the patio to burn old fence panels, joists, pallets and any other bits of rubbish they could find. So we had to keep all our windows closed to keep the toxic fumes out.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 2:14 pm In fairness, the UK doesn't give us that many days per year where cooking outside is a good idea and frankly with population density being what it is most people setting a fire, whether it's for BBQ purposes or not, are being inconsiderate arseholes.
