I've taken it up with my son. Been indoors so far because of winter but going to the clubs outdoor course at the weekend. Looks amazing, 22 ranges within woodland, shooting at targets and pretend animals!

You know this has nothing to do with any building work or expansion plans, right?

The runways are all still operational, there's just no power to the airport. It'll be fixed later today.

I'm not suggesting they are; just that maybe they should focus first on making their existing operation more robust, like laying on a 2nd power supply, so that even if one goes, at least they can keep a couple of terminals operational, rather than just having enough backup power to run ATC & little else.

This was a predictable incident, & shutting down operations for a day & causing massive worldwide disruption isn't a good look.

I just did 1200kms in 2 days to help setup a new club in Kyudo (Japanese archery)

I've shot trad longbow and compound since I was a kid but am concentrating on Kyudo now

Thankfully no. I have the usual suspects that are always late payers, but haven't seen any significant increase. I'm probably not the best use case though, as for the most part I get payment (or partial) up front. I lose a few clients thanks to this policy, but I figure these are wasters anyway that I would spend a whole bunch of time chasing and often enough not get paid at all, so I've been much happier and sleep better since I brought it in a few years ago.

I generally deal with small businesses, so not huge amounts but had been wasting a lot of time with dickheads essentially looking to get work done for free. The amount of times I heard "you can trust me", "I'm as honest as they come" and so on. Each and every one of them that said things like that was a cunt!

Oweing me money though seems to be very bad for the health of people's grandparents. So many of my debtors have had them up and die on them right at the same time as they are late for payment. So you'd better pay me or else I'll kill your elderly family members!!

Possibly the best piece of business advice I ever got was to NEVER be late with any payment - your reputation is all you've got. I've seen it go the other way a good few times and guys I knew would end up losing tens of thousands of pounds worth of work because they couldn't get materials due to them stiffing suppliers in the past.

Yeah that fucking sucks - there's literally no excuse for that. It's not like they don't have the cashflow to cover your invoice.

You might see if you have something similar in the UK and then send out a shot across the bow email to all of your clients, reminding them of that statute (if it exists) and explain why you might have to start enforcing it. Might wake a few people up to the situation their late payments put you in.

You have to do something if its causing you stress and lack of sleep though - life's too short to be dealing with small bullshit like that.

UK Government has zero qualms about charging you interest on late payments for council tax or business rates bills! Private sector have that option open to them too, but we haven't used it yet in our business (yet)

Yeah, it's a tricky one as I also can't afford to lose the business so it's difficult to know how far to push it. Although I lost my shit with a well known company this morning who are 6 weeks late already and just told me they have fucked up the onboarding process and so have to start again which will take at least 2 weeks. I've been telling them for a month they have fucked up the onboarding process.

However, as detailed elsewhere, the current one is a pain in the hole and no one seems to be able to diagnose or fix the clutch issues - it also seems that it is very common with the car - Hyundai.

Anyway, going to sell it or trade it in and get a new/2nd hand one. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I have heard good and bad but more generally good. The details of the vehicle basically go out to auction so you have more interest than the likes of We Buy any car. Your basic problem is you are relying on the buyer not noticing the clutch issue when you hand it over.

On that note I have also heard that the inspector for We Buy any car, who operates out of the car park at Dobbies Garden Centre, is an absolute clown and fails to notice many undisclosed defects.

What's your point. He is driving at the maximum speed for a bus and is that close to the vehicle in front he is unable to avoid a collision when it slows. Regardless of the failure to indicate from the car in front that is entirely his fault and is incredibly reckless driving for a guy with a bus load of kids.
