Yours.

Rickleton under pressure to justify his selection ahead of Zondo.

The game is by no means lost, but we are playing Bangladesh, not India or Australia.

147 for three.
4 bowlers plus an all rounder is a pretty standard test team approach. Granted, Mulder is no McMillan/Klusener. He comes with a fair amount of hype but he seems to be a bit of a military medium to me. At least Zulu and Big Mac hit the deck pretty hard when they bent their back. I'd rather have fatty Magala in there to be honest.

262 for 6 at drinks.

Verreynne adds a single to his overnight score and departs after wasting a review to a plumb delivery, Mudler follows him next ball edging to gulley.

I must say, apart from Elgar, they were all soft dismissals to nothing balls. Mulder can perhaps be forgiven, but we are playing Bangladesh, FFS.

Edit: Having said that Ebadot gets one to lift off a length to surprise Bavuma, but second slip grasses a difficult chance. It might get interesting when we get to bowl.

Bavuma bowled on 93.

298 for seven. Harmer joins Maharaj.

Lots of jeering from the nice Bangas.

Maharaj goes next ball, bowled.

298 for eight.

3 slips and a gulley for Willimas, lots of close fielders.

2 slips for Harmer. Don't fucking engage with them, Harmer. Huge appeal from Bangladesh, leg bye to bring up the 300.

Fuck up from the third umpire, Bangladeshis are furious.

Pitched outside leg, so not out, but the third umpire says it's out. Batsman called back.

314 for eight at lunch.

Kak decision from Marais. 367 should be a 100 more.

367 all out.

Olivier is a good number 11 to have, but the fact that Harmer and Olivier as the last wicket pair never looked in any trouble, showed that this Bangladesh attack is not quite a potent as we made them look.

Can't wait to watch us bowl.

367 is well below par, particularly after the sturdy foundation set in the first session yesterday.

It was a VERY prolonged appeal.

Erasmus probably regrets being pressured into it.

Haven't you got someone else to abuse?

I see Hellraser is posting on the Ukraine thread.

Harmer gets Shadman. 25 for one.

I made my point on the thread, other people made theirs, and there's no reason to continue posting about it. I'm just curious, the way you're acting here is like the Bangladeshis cheated or convinced the umpire to make a bad decision. But when I go look at Cricinfo, it turns out the decision was a good one. So why does the length of the appeal matter, and why would the umpire be regretting it?

None of this is abuse, either.

Oom said that Erasmus was wrong in giving the lbw, given that ball tracking indicated umpire's call by a coat of varnish.

I said that there was a prolonged appeal which probably pressured Erasmus.

You responded by implying that Saffas are worse for prolonged appeals.

That certainly seems like you are attacking me.

Anyway, this is an engaging contest, even if you dislike the South African team for their histrionics, so, if you don't mind, I'll get back to it.

Elgar brings himself on.

Obviously, the light is preventing Elgar from being able to employ his seamers and the Bangladeshis are intent on taking advantage. Which means that they are scoring quite freely, but it also means that there are opportunities to take wickets.

Where did I imply the Saffas are worse or that I dislike them? I was simply pointing out that you were pretending the SA team doesn't make loud appeals. Every team does. And that's not attacking you in the slightest, what an odd thing to say!

So, to recap: Bangladesh appealed for LBW and it was upheld on appeal. So the umpire was "pressured" into making a correct decision. You have given Bangladesh no respect at all, on top of repeatedly moaning about their behaviour (i.e. appealing and a bit of chat). They beat NZ in NZ and their antics are no worse than any other team; why are you so extraordinarily sour about your opponents in every match?

Hopefully the SA players don't have such stone-age views of subcontinental teams.

Who cares?

This is an interesting and engaging contest, and I'm really not interested in arguing with you.

Bangladesh are trying to take the attack to the spinners, but are not being able to score at the pace they want to.

Bangladeshis have gone into their shells a bit.

Even so, there are chances. Shanto left a ball which bounced fractionally over off stump.

The Bangladeshis should be in their element facing spin at both ends, but they're a little too cocky: after smashing Harmer for six, Shanto goes, bowled.

Petersen takes a sharp left-handed catch to send Mominul back for a duck for Harmer to get his third.

FYI - The Women's WC final is going to be on Sky Showcase and their Youtube channel - so you won't need a subscription to watch it.

You need to post that on the dedicated WWC fred.

Stumps at Kingsmead, Simon Harmer with all 4 wickets. 98 for four.

Actually, I'm kind of okay with it, not only because it gives them the opportunity to maximize earnings over a short career, but because I really do feel that bringing on black talent is the best way of broadening the appeal of the game among our majority in order to draw from a larger base.

Obviously, having our best players making themselves unavailable means that sides who play against England or Australia may not be full strength, but I believe that it will make us stronger in the long term.

It's the same with rugby. Our players returning will only strengthen our teams. Just wish DStv will rather show and invest in our local competitions and structures.

I got caught out by DSTV again: they went to an ad break and it was some minutes before I realised that they had moved coverage of the test to a minor channel so that they could show the important IPL game, so I missed one of Harmer's wickets. Alright, so they will show you the wicket ball, but it's the balls before which are interesting as they show you how the batsman is set up by the bowler.

These DSTV cunts are only interested in fucking soccer.

Incidently, Oom, we had our yearly IPT (Inter Provincial Hockey Tournament) in Durban last weekend.

I played for KZN over 65s. We only scored one goal the entire tournament, so we lost every game, but the good news is that it was me who scored from the top of the 'D'.

Will post the team pic, when it gets sent to me.

[Sorry about the non cricket post]

“I had my reasons for signing Kolpak,” Harmer said after the second day’s play on Friday. “For me it was about opportunity. There’s a lot of talk about the fact that it was lucrative, getting paid in pounds etcetera, but for me it was about opportunity. At the Warriors (his then domestic franchise) I was only playing one format, (in England) I played in all three formats.”

Harmer, now 33 years old, signed his Kolpak deal in 2017, and became an instant hit at Essex helping them to win the County Championship twice, and also the T20 title in 2019.

Latham has his ton but is still not finding the boundaries as we would hope

EDIT: he turned it on in the last couple of overs for a magnificent 140* after 50 overs.

Netherlands chasing 265, a great recovery for the BCs after being 32/5.
