Its sad that the Stormers and officials have to get to this point to get victories for the Stormers....
We need a full investigation.

I like the idea, but seems a bit unfair on the team finishing top, i.e. Leinster.
Also a fairly slim chance any SA teams will be in the final given our current positions on the log.

Going back ten years or more the finals have been attended by forty five thousand or so supporters, or at capacity of the stadium in the case of the Leinster and Ulster grounds.
What are the chances of that kind of crowd in a South African stadium if there isn't a South African team involved?

I'd love to watch an SA team beat Leinster in Port Elizabeth

If there is a SA team involved, getting those big crowds will be no problem as attested by past Super Rugby finals that were played in SA, even the knockout stages were very well attended. Not sure how good the attendance will be if its 2 European teams in the final. Even though there are decent british and irish communities in SA, they are a bit spread around and not all follow rugby so most likely will not help a lot in filling up a big stadium.
So it most likely will be better to have the final at the stadium of the top ranked team in the final, if they want to award a final to a stadium beforehand like is done in the Champions league, etc then maybe they should have some flexibility in that if it was awarded to a SA stadium, that it could be moved north in case of a SA team not making it and vice versa. As much as it is a good holiday to come to SA and there are loads of big stadiums available for rugby, even FNB soccer stadium are used for rugby test to get 90k+ crowds in its a bit unrealistic to expect at least 30k supporters to fly down to SA for a once off game and hoping a further 20-30k in SA will pitch up.

I don’t really understand why the URC would consider a final in SA at this point. No guarantees of big crowds, and even if their was the gate receipts would be tiny compared to a European final

For me it makes a mockery of heading the tournament. I would feel aggrieved if it were my team.

Someone had a brain fart when waking up. Unless Leinster gets eliminated in the playoffs it should happen up north

If they think that starting with Willemse at 15 and Herschel at 9 is the solution well I am sure that Jake hopes that they get 60 minutes......
Only thing I can think of is that Gelant is still injured or not 100 percent. Why they would start Herschel at 9 is beyond me. De Wet has been outstanding.
Aimee Barrett-Theron is a woman ref from Cape Town....second woman ref in URC

Yoh ouboet.
My apologies. Now residing in KZN but a Cape girl.
Well done to her. Good luck on the weekend.
Edit....most people I meet can't wait to get away from KZN.
Especially after the July riots...what is it with sports people leaving the cape to go there

I'm actually quiet looking forward to this weekend's derby games, after having a bit of a break from them. Makes for some interesting match-ups for the Bok training squad being announced soon.

They should be 2 VERY good games.
Huge scrum power from the Stormers, Lions & $harks.
Super lineouts from the Lions & Bulls
All 4 teams have great loose forwards
All 4 teams have great packs
The running game of the Lions
The kicking game of the Bulls and $harks 10's
The kicking game of the Stormers 9 [if Junkies is selected]
But, when the backlines overcome their kicking and actually run with and pass the ball then link up with the forwards
Fire will be made.
Meat will be braaied
A dop or 2 will be drunk.

What a great team try right on the half for the Stormers. Starting in their own 22 and building phases. Great stuff.
