But what lockdowns avoid is the actual adult conversation of what is preferable and the honest conversation of the costs as well as the benefits.
Because there hasn’t been a mention of the economic costs of lockdown.
There’s been absolutely no parliamentary discussion costing the potential deaths vs the economic costs no. Every one who mentions the economy gets shouted down .
There should be actual parliamentary scrutiny for spending 400 billion pounds.
I’m taking 30% off your views here due to lack of it affecting you.

Agree with Bimbo to be fair that politicians are locking down because they're scared.
But being scared by an ever rising daily death figure is good reason to be scared?
Should've been short sharp lockdowns like in Wales.
Wales had one. It was only 2 weeks ago and there’s no evidence it will work.

Problem is where people don’t follow the rules set out for them, the govt then has to apply even stricter rules. Where in fact better compliance of what we had likely would have worked.

Oh, and PS.
Those that remain in secure jobs on full pay have no view regarding lockdowns that shouldn’t be discounted by that security, it’s a big difference between losing your life’s work and missing a latte.
Like those who have a Porsche parked their garage shouldn't have opinions about starving kids?
If you are on full pay you have no skin in the game so feeding your family isn’t something you have to even consider.

Cool, so we're pivoting to Northerners not following rules now?
I'd suggest politicians ignoring their scientific advisors and encouraging the public to continue having a pie and a pint may have had more of a role to play.
Costing lives shutting things down late once was careless. Doing it a second time is shambolic.

We cannot just keep locking down, the cure then being far worse than the disease.

Always hard to know if you're playing dumb or not. You're not locking down at the end of Sept, start of Oct primarily to stop additional deaths in October. You're doing it to put the brakes on the deaths that come later in Nov and December because the virus was able to spread to easily in September and October.
