i don't blame ppl for not trusting the vaccines, the most used vaccine (astra-zeneca) around the world is only75% effective.. this is the problem, so many vaccine makers and none can guarantee you a 100% o r atleast 95% success..we were suppose to learn form the pandemic and yet somehow it became a game between countries on who can "sell" the most vaccines even if it may not be very effective..
astra-zeneca is being brought to fiji and i ain't taking it... fuck off..
Astra Zeneca is 100% effective at preventing serious illness, hospitalisation and death. All of the vaccines are.
The headline figures of 75%,90% etc aren’t the most relevant things. There’s a quick explainer here

Isn’t there also the difference in how the trials were conducted? AZ tested all participants so asymptotic were captured, the others didn’t so their headline number is different.

I’ve got a roofing guy who came round this morning to fix a few slates. Nice bloke, but after he was done he kept me on the doorstep while he had a rant about Covid/vaccines/5G/government conspiracies (I slightly lost track of how it all fit together, but it did).
It shouldn’t really surprise me. I keep his number in my phone largely because he is slightly nuts - we have a big house and he is prepared to shin up a ladder (by himself) and do things at 2nd floor level. Today’s job took him an hour and he charged me £68. If I’d called anyone else they would have insisted on scaffolding, which means the bill starts at £1000.

There were multiple different smallpox vaccines used over the years. Different tech, produced by different techniques.
Just checked and there are three smallpox vaccines available currently - Dryvax, Imvamune and ACAM2000.

Have you watched the video above? Do you know exactly what those percentages that you're merrily throwing around actually mean?

I had a roofer who came round mine to fix a few tiles by ladder last Sept and the busy-body across the street (no, not me) was more concerned about the lack of scaffolding in place then coming into my face to talk to me without a mask.

Do you have proof that the AZ vaccine killed them? You, and people like you, who don't understand the figures they spout, or the nonsense they spout, are the problem, not the vaccines or the scientists.

u are not getting it, even if AZ isn't the reason they are dead, WHO/CDC/UN is not even making an effort to prove to ppl that it wasn't the cause of their deaths.... which is infact making it worse, the best thing to do is pull out AZ so that ppl atleast get vaccinated with the other 9 options cause this one failed option may stop ppl from getting vaccinated altogether. ..now they will fear all vaccines because of the ineptness of WHO to fix this issue

Anti-vaxxers are born when people completely misunderstand scientific data and try and read things into it that simply aren't there. Like you're doing now

I have had the AZ vaccine, and as you can see i am still alive and kicking, by the way there is a low possibility of side effects for EVERY vaccine on the planet, indeed if you look at the possible side effects on a packet of paracetamol, you would never take them.
Rare
Bloody or black, tarry stools
bloody or cloudy urine
fever with or without chills (not present before treatment and not caused by the condition being treated)
pain in the lower back and/or side (severe and/or sharp)
pinpoint red spots on the skin
skin rash, hives, or itching
sore throat (not present before treatment and not caused by the condition being treated)
sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
sudden decrease in the amount of urine
unusual bleeding or bruising
unusual tiredness or weakness
yellow eyes or skin
Diarrhea
increased sweating
loss of appetite
nausea or vomiting
stomach cramps or pain
swelling, pain, or tenderness in the upper abdomen or stomach area

The risk of death to children from small pox was huge. The risk of death to a healthy adult is negligible from COVID. I don't think we should be using inappropriate yardsticks like this because it helps no-one.

And that is surely the point i.e. risk v reward. I don't take paracetamol/ibuprofen etc because the type of pains they are routinely used for are not sufficiently discomforting to me versus the downsides (which I appreciate are rare enough but must happen to someone). The other extreme is people unnecessarily having cosmetic surgery.
I'm not going to go all
at people who have made a rational, personal choice. These not to be confused with the nutjob anti-vaxxers on things like MMR.

AZ is up to 95% efficient, historically 60% was considered best case. Stemoc Ask your your doctor if he can give you a dose of reality instead FFS

and when the supposed failure of one vaccine puts off people from getting any of the vaccine, then come and tell me that. WHO is dealing with this the same way they dealt with covid, took them 3 months since the virus was first 'released' before they declared it a pandemic and by that time, it was a bit too late, it had already spread to other countries instead of being confined to one ..as much as ppl don't like to say it , China is to be blamed for this, they were trying to get rid of evidence of what caused it instead of dealing with the virus itself... a lot of ppl higher up the ladder failed is the reason why we are in this shithole right now..

Yep - plenty of other Hairdressers out there - and we've survived without any of them for most of the last year.
I run a Guitar Club, which has been dormant for the last year. I'm just about to get it going again, starting off with some outdoor sessions. Seriously considering making it vaxxed members only when we return to an indoor setting - Assuming everyone has had the option for a vax by then.
Anyone else now picturing Ovals throwing shapes and soloing like a GOD as a thunderstorm rages around him?
You wouldn't picture that in your mind if you'd actually heard me play

I very seriously doubt that. Certainly his conspiracy theories are far more likely to put me off using him in the future.
