I hate franchise rugby.
Team yes
Club yes
Franchise so fucking American. It may as well as be Burger King
As a Cheetahs supporter I can feel your pain.

The Sharks knocked out the URC and advantage Springboks.

Very pleased for Mchunu. I put him down as a possible call up early in the season. I thought Pepsi did enough to get a call-up too, but our depth at 8 is just ridiculously strong.

I'm surprised to see Elton there, given his recent shenanigans.

Evan Roos and Elrich Louw will probably get the call up. Both perform well above Pepsi all season.

Should be 50 plus on a couple of occassions.
Yes Wales really are that badly decimated by injury and very poorly coached.

I think it will be a lot closer than people think, Wales National Side is always better than the Welsh club sides.

Mchunu is a great prospect. I am always a little cautious about sending in rookie props at test level though. Its one of the most technical positions on the field and Wales normally scrum well. He's only played about 20 games at senior level and many of them as a sub. Needs more mileage. A black KZN (Durban) born and schooled front row Springbok will be awesome though. It'll shut up a few Free State and Capie mouths too.

Phepsi is also very exciting. Roos leads the young no.8 cohort at this stage I think though. Elrigh is a beast but I think needs more work. He needs to work on body position in carries in particular. Against weaker oppo he wrecks them but against the big boys he'll not make as many yards. Danie Roussow had the same issue.

If the RWC was tomorrow I'd play Marcel Coetzee before all of them in any position in the loose trio. I don't think he features in the Bok plans though.

I'm not concerned about the pack though. Jaden H and Hershelle played better yesterday. With Reinach out I am a little worried about no.9. Scrumhalf and flyhalf are still our thinnest positions.

Agree with all that. Coetzee has been rock solid this season. He should be the Bok mix for 2023 RWC. Roos and Phepsi are both front runners for the 2023-2027 cycle, but for short term I’d take Vermeulen and Coetzee as my No8s

Apparently there are some personal issues between Coetzee and Rassie/Nienaber. Think Roos and Elrigh will both go to the 2023WC. Phepsi is a distant 3rd out of the young guns.

Wiese will still be in the mix, I expect. Especially if he wins the Premiership with Leicester in a couple of weeks.

Speaking of Jasper Wiese, his brother Cobus is turning into an absolute monster lock at Sale. He was tearing it up on the weekend together with Lood and the du Preez bros. At 25 years old I reckon he's a Bok prospect. Akker van der Merwe also played well.

So we cant expect not many new players in the starting XV
Willie, Mapimpi, Amm, Ellende, Kolbe, Pollard, Faf, Wiese, PSdT, Kolisi, Etsebeth, Lood,Thomas, Bongi, Ox.

The bench may get a different look. If they use 6/2
Kitshoff, Marx, Malherbe, Sous, Fourie, Roos, Herschell, Willemse.

Good question. This kind of bugs me about our current Bok team, most fans have no idea how so many key players have been performing.

Full crowds back on in SA with 50% attendance limits to be dropped? Would be a nice little financial boost if it in time for Wales tour and RC.

Six home tests with say 20 000 extra bums on seats per game. Average ticket price - R300. Extra revenue R36 million.

England's Premiership stop their Boks to join squad. How weird is that?

Luckily only 3 players.

It's pretty standard. The clubs don't release them until the official international windows begin.

The RFU 's Elite Player Squad agreement with Premiership Rugby includes significant payments for greater player access. Which sets the precedent of other unions having to pay up if they want access to their players outside international windows.

Which is very fair I think. It’s the price we pay for having a large contingent of foreign based players. There’s always a trade-off.

Wiese was pretty good in the final. Saw some piccies of the Boks. PSdT look good. Expect him Kolisi and Kwagga to start. Would love to see Fourie get a go. He'll be an eye opener.

It will be like Roman times, baying crowds in ampitheatres filled with strong aggressive hungry Lions devouring hapless weak scared Christians.
