Youngs' ball delivery from the ruck is glacial.

Contract with Tigers elapsed and no one else has signed him. He's currently on some sort of direct RFU contract which is a unique arrangement afaik.
Cheers. Seems a bit shambolic that a player in contention for RWC selection doesn't even have a club: not like he was with Wuss/Wasps/Lirish.
He's a 29 year old wing with a bad injury history who's going to be unavailable for the start of the 23/24 season, but he's also an experienced international player, so salary demands won't be low. I can see why clubs wouldn't be lining up to sign him.

Doesn't change the fact he's a handy player, but England don't have to think about his value through the frame of the salary cap.
I guess with 3 clubs down, places are at something of a premium too.

Can hear him pretty well on this, but you do have Dewi Morris on comms...

I know, but it's a brand new frustration every time you watch England after having watched pretty much any other match. We seem to be the only national team who don't value something resembling speedy delivery.

Ref is being somewhat strict on England but they’re looking very very average regardless.

Is it just me, or does this game seem to be 7 mins of game time so far and 12 mins of faffing around

Most of that 12 minutes is waiting for Youngs to clear it.

Ire are peerless under the high ball in defence. You wonder what the point is in Eng kicking away possession to them.

Ireland showing that if you're even halfway competent in the air then England have no functional attacking plan.

That’s all they have at the moment. There’s zero cohesion in the English back line.

When Eng were close to the line, they did not try anything, and just tucked the ball under the shirt, until they eventually lost it for holding on.

It’s like Borthwick himself is the attack coach.

Surprised at that. He’s generally pretty reliable from that sort of area.

Some good moments from individual England players.
But so much less than the sum of its parts right now.

Jesus that ball was so slow out the back of the scrum from Youngs that Watson had to completely check his run so as not to overshoot it.

I think we're aspiring to the old welsh trick of play an absolute dog shit boring game that keeps us in touch and then a fluky score might be enough to win it.

Well if the master plan is to keep kicking us ball, we'll eventually do something with it; so it might be time for the coaches to wonder about the master plan ? ..... cause I know the fans on here have already decided it's seventeen colours of shite
