Which backline will dominate? (And do you have any stats on those Taranaki locks, cause you know, statistically speaking one of them is a ‘bok shoe in)Sandstorm wrote: Fri Oct 02, 2020 7:11 am Those locks are all Taranaki Girls standard. Huge difference in backline talent too.

Mossie. Mossie played 10 in grade 11 & 12. Kade 15 in grade 11 & 10 in grade 12.
Myself rate Mossie higher because he look and play like Lem. Flat and tackling hard and cant kick for life. Running rugby. Kade is an excellent place kick (Sorry Nipper). He and Pollard was the best schoolboy place kickers I have ever seen.
Ok thanks, but who the fuck is Mossie?OomStruisbaai wrote: Sat Oct 03, 2020 12:55 pmMossie. Mossie played 10 in grade 11 & 12. Kade 15 in grade 11 & 10 in grade 12.

Anybody known which team they are backing for the Green vs Gold clash?
It’s kind of tricky choosing one. I hope Nienaber’s outfit does well. It will be great for his confidence and for public support of his tenure if he can outsmart Rassie.
I think I’ll be backing Gold. (Even though I think Green has the better team and Rassie).

Agreed. Him and Kitshoff were the two best forwards out there.‘tsek wrote: Sat Oct 03, 2020 5:01 pmYip, stats don’t lie. I am old school and love Springbok trials.
Have you ever played trials? That's the rugby you get from trials BUT the flipside from it is that it always produce great Springbokke.
Last time Strauli (I think) found our first pocket rocket, Brent Russell.
Yesterday may have produce also out of nowhere.
Future will tell.

"Chasing the sun" starts tonight at 18h00.
The likes of Sards need to watch this.

One thing that came out of this trial is that Wazza is not a Springbok 10.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2020 3:11 amI am old school and love Springbok trials.

Can't kick for posts, tries to go it alone, petulant behavior and shakey temperament.
It seems like Sards has been right about him all along

He was incredibly poor. Just seemed to lose his head after missing those penalty kicks. Advantage EJ after yesterday![]()

It is a pity that we never saw much of the Rikus 12.
I know it's a trial match and he wants to impress the coaches, but apart from that it was a no-pressure match. Can't be fun being centres with him at 10.Chilli wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2020 5:53 am Trolling aside, he was kak.

After seeing Willemse chew up the majority of the time at 10 and Curwin getting only a bit part its clear that he is going to be another Damien De Allende. Favored over better youngsters and kept in the team. And in 6 years time he might actually be able to add a contribution. That was the worst performance I have seen from a " 10 "......
I am yet to live the hype. So far I haven't seen anything from him to get me interested.assfly wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2020 5:58 amI know it's a trial match and he wants to impress the coaches, but apart from that it was a no-pressure match. Junkies was BY FAR the best 10 of the day.
It is a pity that Quade never got more game time
Average. Defence was shite and cross kicked straight to the oppo wing. One interesting little grubber.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2020 6:23 amBosch surely impressed you a lot.Chilli wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2020 6:06 amI am yet to live the hype. Agree on Jantjies, they can also try Morney. He played well on the Hero day.
Pitty Jantjies scrum half vokken kick every thing away. Steyn and Simelane had vokol possession. At least the Gold backline could put up a few phases and play much more running rugby.

Nohamba, lostakicka and the good Junkies were terrible.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2020 6:31 am Agree on Jantjies, they can also try Morney. He played well on the Hero day.

None of the 10s on show yesterday gave me any confidence. Best we do not play any international matches this year if what we saw yesterday is anything to go by. Hopefully over the coming weeks some of them can pick up some form. At this moment a bok backline without Pollard in ot will give me no confidence.
They are. Every 10 we have kicks everything every time. Junkies at least has a decent cross kick to the right wing.
