Backrow is a thing of beauty. Make all the hits and turnovers but also great in open play too. They are the core of what makes this side tick.

What's the story with Gourdon these days, Torq? I remember him looking pretty good for France, but he hasn't had a look in for a little while.

There are just so many good flankers available that he's no longer on the radar. He was out for a while with injury and other players knocked him out of contention.

Had Nolli who is very good but rest of C4 is muck. The annoying Mick, the token gay, and Gashton dragged in, presumably because they thought since he'd played for Sale and in France, he might utter something intelligible.

As an aside, LaR were the worst French side Sale could have come up against.

It was a classic good biggun beats a good little 'un. We panicked as well which didn't help. I think they'd have always beaten us, but having Lood and Ben Curry available would've helped us hugely

Exeter need to adjust. French refs are known to allow more of a mess at the breakdown and Reynal's giving a fair amount of leeway. Not a lot wrong with that one from VDF though.
