Happy about that - not sure how Gats is going to play it next year but would rather his son wasn't the one going permanently into #10
Where does it leave Kaleb Trask though? I thought he looked very promising in his few opportunities at 10 this year. More so than at 15.

Excellent point - I keep thinking of Kaleb as a Mooloo man and not a Chief. Highlanders should grab him.
I'll buy shares in the local brewery. And make sure he doesn't buy on my street

Good move, he's not a superstar but he's experienced and a genuine big game player.

Yep, that was always a highlight.
More locally, the Anzac Day game between W(h)anganui and Taranaki was always eagerly anticipated when I was a kid in the 70s. Not only a great rivalry, but it also signalled the start of the provincial rugby season. We seldom won, but it was Mum's birthday so guaranteed to be full-on fun regardless.

Yep, I'm hoping for a Waikato win as well.
Difficult to make any predictions after such a long break. The only thing I can say with 100% certainty is that Auckland has zero chance of winning this weekend.

None of the usual suspects are working for the match due to kick off in five or so minutes. Can anyone help?

Scratchy old first half, Waikato ahead 7-5.

That's got to be one of the most inexplicable decisions ever seen. Even if everything the ref said is true (debatable), it doesn't change the most obvious fact that the Waikato 7 came in from the side (almost from the Canty side of the ruck).
