The Eastern Cape. The birth place of so many South African rugby players, and the new variant of Covid.

It's getting worse by the day. Here's hoping and praying that we can get through this.

It's a real worry. The majority of people are just not sanitising or wearing masks or keeping their distance these days.

The water off Slaapstad is to cold to swim in and the wind always blows, so no point in going to the beach in any case.

I think that largely it all depends on where you go.
There were a few bakkie loads of people driving through our suburb on Saturday night, drinking , smoking, partying, breaking bottles, pissing everywhere and making a general nuisance of themselves. No masks, no distancing etc etc. The Cops came, but had their hands full and left to tend to a fatal accident on the N2. This then resulted in residents [with their masks on] going into the streets to chase them away, which resulted in fights and the usual racial slurs and tension. So the Cops came back, all 4 of them, and were chased away by the "revellers". hen a fight broke out and ambulances had to be called etc.

Everywhere I go in Johannesburg, people are wearing masks and sanitising. Same in the Midlands.

Must just be in the Western Cape. And the Eastern Cape, I suppose...

The CDC has suggested that the over 75s will be the second group to get the vaccines, and that’s me, but not my wife.

My wife is 3 years older than me and in an earlier group too. Bloody tart will be out all night while I'm still stuck at home.

Level 3.....good news for my wifes shop. Bad news for the sit down restaurant industry.

When we built the shop we had Corona level 3 in mind so built a dedicated Mr.D and Uber eats collection point away from the general walk in tills. Also created a waiting point for the delivery houses on the opposite side of the shop entrance to the seated waiting point for walk in clients. So no contact. The trick now is to ensure staff are compliant when traveling. We do checks every morning and when we built the shop we installed hand wash areas in every work point with the required sanitizers and cleaning soap on tap. And insist that staff regularly clean . We built the shop so that the cooking area is visible to the public so they can watch the entire cooking process and see the staff preparing their meals.
This will hopefully make us a more attractive option.

I only go back to work on the 11th. So have no issues relaxing at home around the pool. I pity the kids. We got a solid boogie boarding session in today but that session just begged for more....it must be so kak for the kids....

Wish I’d hit the bottle store. I’m decently stocked, but would have liked to have picked up case of beer.

Successfully returned to Plague Island, see if we can breed the mutant variants. Looks like co-incidentally left at just the right time.

Incredible shame for SA as clear as day the affected sectors can't afford the increased restrictions, but the alternative...

Have family still at Pilansberg meant to be going down to CT for Jan, wonder how these affect them. Finally saw a leopard, taken forever.

The water off Melkbos has been 13 to 14 degrees C and its been very mild winds. We are watching all this unfold and are missing great waves and healthy exercise.
