Mare of Easttown has been very good so far.
I enjoyed it to start with, but thought the last episode was pretty underwhelming tbh. Hope it gets back on track this week...
Stick with it.

Yep, am enjoying Mare of Easttown. Enjoyably messed up. And non obvious.
Looks like there are 2 episodes to go (7 in total) in the UK.

Just started band of brothers. Been meaning to watch it for some time.
I watch it in full every 2 years or so. Outstanding series - the greatest series.
I was excited when The Pacific came out. But was so disappointed on my initial watch. BUT - I recently watched it again, without trying to compare it to Band of Brothers - and my opinion did a complete reversal. As a study of brotherhood and leadership - Band of Brothers is perfect. But as a study of the human spirit and what humans are capable of withstanding - The Pacific is a frikken masterpiece.

Invincible on Amazon is every good.
Starstruck on Beeb is also very good.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p09djx02
Jupiter's Legacy is decent enough, so far better than expected.
Mare of Easttown has been very good so far.
Stumbled across Invincible as I am a big Jason Mantzoukas fan. I had no idea what the story/world was - but holy heck - the end of the first episode certainly let me in on what it was about. Crazy.
Mare of Easttown was the wife's pick - I wasn't interested - but I'm really enjoying it. Just finished episode 5 - whew - it's a a slow ride but a good one.

Listening to an older We Have Ways pod the other day and they were talking about Masters of the Air from some of the BoB guys. Following some the US bomber command it should be released this year. For as much as I loved previous series and looking forward to this I'd love to see a British take.

Same with me. Someone bought me the Box set of Band of Brothers.. and I watch it every few years.. just brilliant...
And The Pacific... like you I was underwhelmed first time around... but watched it again recently... and got a lot more out of it.

La Revolution on Netflix. A not-quite-zombies re-telling of the French Revolution.
Only a couple of episodes in so far, but it's pretty good. Well acted, an intriguing premise and some decent potential avenues for the story to progress. Plus lovely French girls...
Very enjoyable. Gets increasingly hokey as the season goes on though. Worth watching it for Marilou Aussilloux alone.
Cancelled unfortunately.
Netflix are pretty ruthless with their trimming.

FYI. I just noticed that BBC4 is re-airing the original, "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy", series this coming weekend; as well as the interview with le Carré about the series.

I think Netflix aren't that bothered about long-running series with their business model. Not many shows get more than 2 seasons.

What’s peculiar about their business model, that they burn series more than others?

I really liked Upload if you're after a comedy. It's on Amazon. It's about after death your consciousness being uploaded into a virtual reality.

Looking forward to season 2 of upload. I watched season 1 when it released, so will probably watch it again before watching season 2.

Really enjoyable - happy I stuck with it. The first episodes you're not sure if you like the family - and then they just become absolutely loveable for all their quirks. Great supporting cast - a good love story or two - ridiculous overblown fun with a good heart.
Eugene Levy is typically brilliant and Catherine O'Hara is brilliantly pompus.
As for the comment made that it is for women.....not really sure what that means.....admittedly it doesn't have guns or beeewbs....so maybe that is where that comment falls??

I got offered Now TV entertainment for a quid a month for two months.
Mare of Easttown was excellent, Kate Winslet was outstanding.
We just watched the first episode of the third series of Tin Star, it's great nonsense, loved the first two series.
The Nevers is almost good, I really want to like it but it's lacking something.

Just finished the first series and enjoyed it overall, but I thought the writing was a bit tired. Cliché upon cliché.

Watching "The Watch".
I don't despise it. That annoys me.
It's different enough to not feel like a bad ripoff. And yet, using varieties on known characters, seems to make a little sense, as you require less backstory. Feel like Carrot isn't bid enough though.
Annoyed that they clearly decided they didn't have the makeup budget to allow for a troll though.

I thought it was dreadful. Perhaps I’m too closely wedded to the books to accept an alternative treatment but I thought the whole characterisation was wrong for pretty much everyone and it jarred with me throughout.

Fair enough, I’ve been rereading a lot of the Watch based novels and that doesn’t help
