Great innings from the youngster. He was tops in our local T20 competition. Boucher must get Brevis in the loop aswell.

Entertaining day in Edinburgh. Scotland scored 306,which was always going to be short, NZ knocked it off in 45 without too much panic - although on another day the false shots in the first ten overs and the loose shots that dropped between fielders might have led to wickets and something a lot tighter.
600 runs and beautiful sunshine for most of the day, can't beat that.

And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

The two T20Is against Ireland will be played on August 3 and 5 in Bristol. South Africa will then take on England in a three-Test series that begins on July 17 at Lord's - these matches are part of the World Test Championship. South Africa are currently leading the championship table, while England are placed seventh.

Cricket has plenty negative around it, but as of today my club has produced four professional players since we re-founded our junior section around 20 years ago and he bowled beautifully. Meanwhile our teamsheet for Saturday came out just after I checked that and all 11 of us are ex-products of that same junior section. Not a bad effort all round.

The Hundred returns tonight. Not everyone's cup of tea but hard to argue with ticket sales (apparently 85% sold and a quick browse of the website suggests this is pretty accurate) or the different demographics it seems to be engaging. Besides, the cricket was pretty good last year.

Irish came close. Some good tonkers in their team. Not much support for them in Bristol.
Good to see Parnell back. Our T20 team really improved a lot.

The Hundred started last night - despite all the fireworks it was a bit of a whimper.
Bairstow-less Welsh Fire could barely get the ball off the square.

The Welsh Fire are noticeably poorer than the rest of the comp - 41 dots in 100 balls! As much as it is nice to have a Welsh side to see get battered I'm not sure it was a great one to stick on the BBC.inactionman wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 8:35 am The Hundred started last night - despite all the fireworks it was a bit of a whimper.

Their rotten luck to have an away match at Southern Brave (weird name) first-up, they do look a good team.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 9:37 amThe Welsh Fire are noticeably poorer than the rest of the comp - 41 dots in 100 balls! Sigh.....NZ playing the Netherlands - batting first and are looking awful at 60/2 after 10. Making the Dutch look like world beaters.

Scratch that - 61/3 and not getting any better.
We have looked pretty average over the Ireland, Scottish and Dutch games.

Went to my first Hundred game last night and it was a cracker, Oval left needing 6 off the last ball after a pretty remarkable fightback.
Over 20,000 in with most having paid £30+ a ticket isn't a bad effort either, and the atmosphere was less rowdy than T20s at the Oval can be. One bloke lobbed a pint and got kicked out in a rare example of the stewards doing their job.
DJ seems unnecessary but the cricket was good and I'd certainly go again. Shorter game left time for a curry afterwards as well.
