Not going to be recorded anywhere in the records. Not the other teams fault. That's under 20s and under 15s for the Sharks. Runner up under 18s. Under 18s go to the Bulls.
Very pleasing youth results. The 2 richest unions are growing our future

My laaitie has really benefitted from winter net sessions. Remember he is still under 10. Always been a strong hitter but now developing technique

Caleb with a wicket

With a wicket as a bat

Caleb with bat

Then with bat

Really proud of his progress.
He is loving that Black Widow bat

Really good eye, hitting every ball with a stump!

However there's too much bottom hand when he uses the bat, makes him hit across the line. Have him loosen his bottom hand grip a bit more and get his left elbow up a bit higher....

Ja we are getting there. The foot work is where we are working the most now. He doesn't step far enough to the ball.. But we really can't complain. He does have a fantastic eye. He has lots of power. That's something you cannot coach. You either have it or you don't. He tends to lift the ball when he hits, which will be sorted out hopefully before under 11s when the fielders are more accurate and the field bigger. But at under 10s he gets away with it. I think he missed 3 balls with the stumps in a half hour session. That was very pleasing. And the stump didn't have a rubber grip so was slippery in his gloves. Right now the coaches are drilling him with the different shots.

He has been poached by Edgemead...at least he is going to see how it feels after a few practise sessions there. Edgemead has a different approach to Sunningdale.....at Sunningdale they rotate every game to give all the kids a chance. So he will open one match and play 10 or 11 next match....irrespective. Same with bowling. Net result is we did not win a single game last season. Edgemead is building towards the tournament in Mossel bay at the end of the year. So you have to earn your place in the team. Thats more attractive now. And it would be great to win a match...

Ek sal gaan vir die underdog. Boishaai. Hulle het soos 4 SA Skole spelers en 6 WP Craven Week spelers maar beleef hul swakste jaar in dekades. Interskole is altyd n totaal verskillende game. Toetentaal. My hart se Bloedwors maar my kop se Galpil.

Paarl interschools starts on the monday and keep going until the main rugby game on saturday kick off at 16h00. Its a bit different compare to Paul Roos vs Grey College or Grey High where its only the high schools. All the supporters from u7C rugby, hockey, chess, netball, up to u19A (high school is 20 rugby teams) get to the main rugby game on saturday.

Its the mother of SA rugby culture.

Last ruck, the player with the ball goes straight to the floor. Penalty.

No chance he’d blow up a penalty in that situation when he’s 25km behind the Boerewors Curtain. :???:

Lots of not top rugby schools from this squad. PRG the most.

This weekend it's nr4 (PRG) vs nr1 (Grey College ) in Bloemfontein. My best supporter trips going to Bloemfontein . 50 Inter Cape busses.

However there's too much bottom hand when he uses the bat, makes him hit across the line. Have him loosen his bottom hand grip a bit more and get his left elbow up a bit higher....
I had a chat with the coaches about his bottom hand. They say it's not a problem. At under 10s the pitch is small. They say his batting is not an issue at all. As long as he keeps confidence and hits with power he is going to clear the field and make the boundary. We saw that last season already. It's unfortunate he's moving to a new club as he will not be in contention for awards in December, having to build a new total. Bowling and batting. Otherwise he could easily get the all rounder award because he bats, bowls and is wicket keeper and does well in all 3. That's the price he will pay . In the long term he is more interested in winning matches and going to tournaments to compete.

I must say he has outstanding private coaches. The one competed for us in the over 40 world cup recently. And coaches the top CPL team. So he knows his story. Unfortunately we are not allowed to their net sessions anymore because some areshole dad was breaking down his kid at the sessions with his chirps. So all dads got banned.

Its always that dad that played before and fancied himself as a talent but can only remember himself as an older version.......cant remember when he was young.....and expects a lot from his kid , because suddenly he is paying a kay and a half a month for proper coaching.
These coaches are phenomEnal....they never say anything negative about the kids...always build them up....If a kid misses a delivery whilst batting they go..." wow , what an amazing action....keep it there and move your foot closer to the delivery " , whereas that vokker was breaking his kid down.

Nice. Paul Roos beat Grey College at Potch in the NWU 7s tournament u17 final. Paarl Gim winning their own 7s tournament with the help of Wit Rot (Ryan Oosthuizen) coaching.

So proud of my youngest. They played the first match against Rallim for his school. Only a 15 over match. Rallim got 68 with my boy getting 2 wickets. They only bowled 2 overs each. He then opened the batting and smashed a quick 36 with 8 fours before falling to a beautifully lobbed ball he went hard at and missed. He was in the mood. And he was hitting it all around the park. Seems his winter sessions are paying off.

Wynberg fees R65k a year. My parents paid just R120.00 per year in the late 80s. Even with inflation that’s an incredible increase for a State School’s fees!!

After they change to model C , the fees jump a lot. The schools that grow the most nowadays is Curro.

Value for money is Grey Bloem and the Winelands lot.
