What a bonkers finish. So many chances, yet nothing. Very surprised we didn't look at a droppy. Or at least make they Wallabies think we were looking at it.
Yet despite that the Wallabies probably feel worse about the draw than the ABs with some justification.
Both sides looked a bit rusty which was expected, especially with poor conditions making their mark, but still an exciting game despite that.
The Wallabies kicked the ball out to end the game, so I reckon they were happier to take the draw.
Hmm O'Connor was behind his own goal line so unless you assume the man is insane, it was a sensible move.

Just wondering, how would an extra time golden point scenario differ from today's "normal time" result?

Worst game I've seen from Mo'unga.
Well, apart from a couple of try-saving tackles on Daugunu, putting the idiot Ioane away for a try, bamboozling the Aussies and keeping the ABs in the game during the last few minutes, you could be right. But then it's a very high hurdle.
Hell hath no fury like a Beauden Barrett slut scorned.

Someone would have won .
Wouldn't it be a hollow win though, a bit like we'd feel if we landed a penalty or droppy to win it after 10 minutes of extra time?
Barring knock out games where a winner is needed, I am not a fan of golden point/extra time. We even have the possibility in the Mitre 10 Cup of the Ranfurly Shield being lost due to a golden point now.

Meh he at least tried stuff, unlike most of the rest of the backline. Poor old Samson Goodhue was practically anonymous.
He got caught behind the line in the 2nd half too much. The decline really did start from when Korobete torpedoed him in half. Yes, I agree rest of the backline were useless too. Goodhue and that duffer Reiko Ioane included.

He was shite today. The backline were useless too but it really does start from him. Caught behind the line. Without his cross kick schtick, he looked ordinary. Thought Snecky also went to sleep too.

I actually agree with this. Him and Ardie Savea were great.

He was excellent. Not that the criticism was unfounded as he was obviously out if form. To say otherwise us hindsight based revisionism rather than knowledgeable analysis.

Shite? Please. He was our third best starting back behind Smith and Bridge. Behind him were Goodhue, Ioane, Barrett, and McKenzie.
At least Mo'unga tried to be creative, and was solid when kicking from hand.
Shame he didn't get the chance to do it for goal, ranked behind that lock on the wing J Spazz "2 from 5" Barrett.

Was a telling lack of shape in attack throughout the game but especially at the end where at one point both Richie and jordie were right in close to the ruck.
Also haven't seen that many wayward passes in an all blacks test

Just strange. As if history has not taught us that a quiet Super Rugby campaign doesn't necessarily mean a veteran All Black is not going to bring it in the tests.
After several months of observing that Cane will give his left nut for the ABs, I was not disappointed today.

Richie stole the ball from the Wallabies, turned and spun it wide.
Is your mate Beauden Barrett?

He was fucking immense. At one stage I thought he was gonna start tackling our guys just because the clock had stopped and he couldn't tackle their guys.

We had no shape at all in the backs at the end. At the very last ruck he and Jordie were standing in TJP's way more than anything. Someone should have been marshalling the troops a lot better - that's what I meant by leading, not making a great turnover.

Not a Chiefs fan, not a Bay of Plenty fan, but I've been a Sam Cane fan for years. He is Richie McCaw's star apprentice and I've never lost faith in him. I've been surprised that others have, though.

The Haka was a good one so thought the boys were on but they just didn’t show up did they, I blame Fosters relaxed attitude. Also Cane, he’s not a Captains arsehole.
Oh dear Trapper, you've lost your mind. Cane was a fair shout for AB man of the match given his awesome lead from the front performance.
I didn’t say he wasn’t a good player, I said he was a shit Captain, there’s a difference.

In case you are not all on board, I just want to remind you how good the insurance bet is.
At the TAB in Australia, the Wallabies were paying $7 to win this test. I duly invested, being a long time fan of the insurance bet.
The Wallabies came very close, emerging with the draw.
There was no draw option in the betting investment I made, meaning I got half the returns of a Wallaby win.
That's a decent result.

A very entertaining game with a bonkers last 10 minutes. If the RC is going to be played like this, I may be re-engaged. Well done both teams.

Well the ABs have a rich and storied history of quiet achievers and best players making captains, so Cane followed suit today I thought.

He left by example, but was not a good leader. For example, we won a scrum free kick in mid park that turned the ball over, the obvious decision was to put a scrum down. Yet with Jordy ready to put a bomb up when we couldn't catch the clap all day, it took Taylor and Nugget to make the decision, can just followed their lead.
Neither Reed or McAwe would have been so disorganised, or ignorant or the correct option to take.

So you think Captaining the All Blacks to a draw at home against a Wallaby team that hardly know each other is an achievement? Righto mate.
I don't think the result was special but I do think captain Sam Cane led from the front as the best player on the park.

Just the odd one or 18. Ref had made up his mind at that point that he didn't want to be the deciding factor.

Colour me SHOCKED. A Barrett calls for a low percentage play.
“We had a number of opinions in the [coaching] box but I thought we calmed ourselves down, we were well set up for a drop goal and I think you’ll see Richie [Mo’unga] was hovering around in that position but Jordie called the ball and it was actually a pretty solid decision,” Foster said.
“Jordie was unmarked on the side but again it’s skill execution and we couldn’t quite get the ball out to where it needed to be.
