Well, Scotland properly shat the bed against Namibia. Poor score of 208 batting first, had Namibia at 111/7 but somehow managed to let them power on from there to 210/7. Shite.
Awesome.

Scotland bowl Namibia out for 119 in the last game of the tri series in Namibia.
Having looked at the tables, I think a win today would mean Scotland qualify for the tournament in Zimbabwe next year.

Judging by the two wickets that have fallen, Pakistan ain’t getting anywhere near that total.

Genuine question. What was the big deal about the 1st England v Pakistan test?
Didn’t see it or read anything about it at the time but all the papers seem to be still talking about it in awed terms

England scored 500 runs on day 1.
Also, most runs in a five day test ever.

Oh, right!
Also saw quite a bit about Stokes’ captaincy being great

Three wickets left now, with a highly dodgy out from the TMO on the last wicket.

It was the flattest of pitches - normally both sides would score 600 or so at 4 an over in the first 4 days and the game would have been the dullest of dull draws. Pakistan might not even have batted a second time.
By scoring at 6.5 in the first innings, and then making a very aggressive declaration, England made a result likely and then managed to engineer 20 wickets to win.
England set Pakistan 343 to win in c. 95 overs, so a rate of about 3.6 - on that pitch you would have Pakistan favourites to get that, so it was a very brave decision.

Soft signal was out so he would have struggled to overturn the call. A bit like the try in our test with England

IMO they've been getting those calls wrong a fair amount in the past few years. Yes I know, foreshortening effect etc, but there's been a handful I can think of that really shouldn't have been given.
Then again it's the equivalent of "umpire's call" which I think is a total cop-out anyway...

fanatic bowling from Wood to get the 2 settled players out and setup the win
Pakistan need to take a serious look at how they play those leg side deliveries.

TMS was saying that the rules have recently been changed and the soft signal has no bearing on the decision making unless there's a technology failure

Just seen it on the news, admittedly they didn’t show multiple slowmos but I’m amazed it was given out.

TFW in pro 20 over cricket you manage to score fewer runs than there are overs
Big Bash League: Sydney Thunder bowled out for 15 by Adelaide Strikers
Sydney Thunder were dismissed for 15 - the lowest score in men's Twenty20 history - as they were thrashed by Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League on Friday.
Chasing 140 to win, Thunder were bowled out in just 35 balls, with number 10 Brendan Doggett top-scoring with four.
Five players made a duck, including England T20 World Cup winner and opening batter Alex Hales.
The previous lowest score was Turkey's 21 against the Czech Republic in 2019.
Strikers' pace bowler Henry Thornton took 5-3 and Wes Agar 4-6 as they claimed a 124-run victory against the abject Thunder.
They had posted a reasonable 139-9 from their 20 overs but tore through Thunder's batting line-up, with the hosts reduced to 9-6 and then 10-8.
Thunder's sole boundary came from a Brendan Doggett inside edge in the penultimate over of the match, which gave him the top score of four.
Their innings of 5.5 overs is the shortest innings in men's T20 history.
"I feel like I need to retire now. I don't think I'm getting better than that," Thornton told Channel Seven.
"I honestly cannot believe what just happened. I think everyone here probably doesn't know what is going on either. It was amazing."
Ooops

Test over inside of 2 days. Head grounds-keeper better hope his pay/bonus isn't linked to gate receipts.
Aus win by 6 wickets, chasing 34 to win after SA skittled again for 99. Rabada with 4 for 14. Extras comforable top scorer as Steve Smith tops the Aus second innings batting with 6 runs...

Indeed. Too green with lots of divots. Very poor from the ground staff.

I didn't see it, but I hope the "respects" extended to the poor sod of a neighbour, who (i) was a totally innocent victim and (ii) seems to have been largely overlooked in most media accounts.
