Six Nations wants Springbokke
We've had years of Eddie Jones, Warren Gatland, and the Irish ("we're just outside their 22! Let's kick it!) doing their best to stop it being a spectator sport...

Yeah, this thread is testament just how much the Saffer fans don't care. They don't care so, so, so, so much.

I must have imagined flying to Paris, Rome and Dublin on a Friday and coming home on the Monday, as well as going on the biannual trip to see friends in Wales.average joe wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:46 amIt's one game. Who gives a shit if accommodation and entertainment are cheap if you're only going to be on the ground for 24 hours (at best) before having to turn around again? Less once you factor in the reason you actually flew out - going to watch the game.average joe wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 11:58 am There's enough chickenrunners over there to make it worth the while. You don't need us klingons.
It's 11 hours from Heathrow to OR Tambo and less than 500 pounds non-stop, round trip. It will cost you half that for accommodation and entertainment. If that's too rich for you, just do what we poor klingons do and watch it on the telly at home or in the pub. You can still go to Rome, Paris, where ever. Your team will only play one game in SA.
Canada's bloody awesome and it takes a couple of hours less to fly to British Columbia on the far side of the country than it does to any of the South African cities that have been mentioned, but it's still not worth flying out there just for the weekend because after an 18 hour round trip there's just not enough time left to properly take advantage of being there.
To briefly go back to points about money, Mexico or India are places that are cheap once you get there, but, again, they're really fucking far away and it's just not a worthwhile use of time to go there for a weekend.
For a weekend trip, the closer the destination the better.
It's this thing they have that they can't recognise or value what a decent tournament looks like. They shat all over the one decent tournament they had in the Currie Cup and now want to take a big shit all over everyone else's as well.westport wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 12:50 pmI must have imagined flying to Paris, Rome and Dublin on a Friday and coming home on the Monday, as well as going on the biannual trip to see friends in Wales.average joe wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:46 amIt's one game. That was years ago.average joe wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 12:47 pmYou mean the team that lost to us in the final of the WC? If so then yes we did, with one point.
You also lost to 3rd place Ireland. That's coming off the back of losing to Australia, twice. And then to apparently shithouse NZ.
What I'm saying is, if NZ's form over the last year or 2 is causing them to "need" SA, it would appear that SA needs NZ just as much.

You guy's asked me for reasons why I think it could work. All trolling aside, I don't really care if it happens or not and it's not up to me or anyone on here to decide. Either way I'll still support my team.
We all know that the crème de la crème of international rugby tests are the Boks VS the All Blacks and that will always be there.

I seem to have missed a game. I cant remember us playing Ireland recently, but then again I don't want to remember playing Australia. I do remember beating NZ though.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 1:08 pmThat was years ago.average joe wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 12:47 pmYou mean the team that lost to us in the final of the WC? I agree with your assessment though. We do need each other, like butter needs bread, like Bonny needs Clyde.
I look forward to the Boks vs ABs as well. Always a great watch. I was wondering why you kept on mentioning 5th placed England and 3rd placed Ireland but didn't mention 1st placed Wales. However, for the weekend away trips that are mainstays of the 6 Nations experience spending 24 of the available 48 hours travelling is a complete show stopper.
And Rome isn't full of South Africans.

Nah, for the French the 6N resumes to one game : France / England.
We will respect the Scots, Irish, Welsh & Italians. They grab the opportunity to let us play in the URC.
The one thing we totally agree on is that we don't want South Africa involved in the 6N.
If France and England don't want it, it will not happen!!!
