I hear that Deranged Jack Smith, in order to interfere with the Presidential Election of 2024, will be putting out yet another Fake Indictment of your favorite President, me, at 5:00 P.M. Why didn’t they do this 2.5 years ago? Why did they wait so long? Because they wanted to put it right in the middle of my campaign. Prosecutorial Misconduct!
President Trump and US politics catchall
Trump indicted for bid to overturn 2020 election
Donald Trump has been indicted on four counts involved with trying to overturn the 2020 election by special counsel Jack Smith.
The former president faces the charges:
1. Conspiracy to Defraud the United States
2. Conspiracy to Obstruct an Official Proceeding
3. Obstruction of and Attempt to Obstruct an Official Proceeding
4. Conspiracy Against Rights
The indictment lists six co-conspirators but does not name them: four attorneys, a justice department official and a political consultant.

All the votes since the last GE have been disastrous for the GOP, & getting the Traitors endorsement has been the kiss of death for many a candidate. It's also been revealed in the last couple of days that a number of State GOP operations are on the brink of bankruptcy, because of the loss of donors, & the internal civil war between the traditional members & the loons.

And his support grows because for all the dumb that resides in that party - and I mean genuinely unintelligent simpletons - they are brilliant at looking at what sticks with their support and making that the story.tabascoboy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 8:18 am So the leading Republican candidate is facing three criminal charges, you couldn't make this shit up
MTG, Cruz, desantis, trump and his satan spawned family make me a worse person.
I suspect that many Republican candidates faced charges during elections over many decades - they were just better than Trump at covering them up.tabascoboy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 8:18 am So the leading Republican candidate is facing three criminal charges, you couldn't make this shit up

Not to mention $180,000. On melanias hair stylist, in 6 months!!!Chris Christie SLAMS Donald Trump for using donations to his political operation to pay his legal bills:
"Most of the money that middle-class Americans have given to him, he’s spent on his own legal fees. This guy is a billionaire.
Maybe just sell Trump Tower? Or sell one of his planes?... Instead, he’s taking $25, $50, $100 from everyday Americans who believe they’re giving it to him to help elect him president. And he’s paying his legal fees."
This one is better (if it shows)

We have record numbers of homeless Americans, 300 Americans die of fentanyl daily, they tell women abortion is healthcare & birth control - killing over 63 million, that men can get pregnant, they brainwash children they can change their gender and amputate their growing body parts, our border is out of control and our government refuses to secure it, our very own nation is number one for child pornography and sex trafficking, our society is overweight and unhealthy, senior citizens can’t survive on social security anymore, inflation is crippling everyone, Americans are drowning in credit card debt, and America’s once great manufacturing is great no more - our supply chain comes from the rest of the world making us dependent on everyone else and weak and vulnerable.
But they are telling you the most important thing they are doing is indicting President Trump for January 6, 2021.
As if anyone is actually waking up at night in sweats over January 6th and terrified that Republicans care about election integrity and that no Democrat ever said stolen election - but sure these are the scariest things Americans face daily.
Yeah while they ALL supported violent BLM riots that destroyed $2 billion in private property in communities across America that killed people and attacked police day and night, while they violated your rights locking down our country over a man made biological weapon that was like the flu for most of the healthy population especially children, forced you to take an experimental vaccine that killed people with strokes, blood clots, myocarditis, and has left people with serious health issues, and are forcing our country and Americans pay for it all switching us to unreliable electric cars run by Chinese made toxic batteries, Chinese made bird killing wind turbines, and stop using reliable U.S. oil, gas, and clean coal bc the climate gods said we must achieve the unachievable net zero carbon - which will make electricity scarce and unaffordable for most Americans plunging us literally into darkness.
But don’t worry they are going to put Trump in jail until he’s dead and stop the scary election deniers.
Yeah, these are the grownups back in charge.
The responsible ones.
The ones you are supposed to trust your children with.
Oh and Biden selling out America and pulling favors for foreign countries and foreign nationals - Hunter’s business partners, they say it’s all conspiracy and political paybacks.
The proof and evidence, not even newsworthy to most of the media, just arresting Trump and playing the state old 3 hour riot from January 6th is the only thing you are supposed to care about.
“Give them games! Throw more bread to the peasants in the coliseum!”
Sure Americans won’t notice..

So far as I know yes he could be president from jail.
And then there's the question as to whether he could pardon himself of federal crimes, that isn't tested, but even if he can't (not even with a corrupt Supreme Court) the VP probably could. What might happen with any state convictions I don't know
The problem remains his support outside registered Republicans is weak, so unless he finds it in himself to be a complete wanker driving a plague on both their houses campaign to try and reduce Democratic voter turnout he's got a real problem actually winning anything, then again there is the oddity that is the process for electing a President, and maybe that does present chances even to someone as unpopular as the orange tub of lard

There really need to be some consequence for the craven Republicans if this (Trump being supported as candidate if convicted) comes to pass - you'd think anyone, even if just worried about saving neck or feathering nest, would drop him like a stone if he's convictedRhubarb & Custard wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 8:39 am So far as I know yes he could be president from jail.

(I am of course labouring under assumption that few actually agree with him but many are using him or too timid/cynical to oppose him).
Aside from the complete lack of responsibility in electing a dangerous idiot for party political purposes, the democrats should electorally dine out on this for a century if the Republican party/electoral college support a felon.
Fucking hell!!

I purposely didn’t comment on Nancy Pelosi’s very weird story concerning her husband, but now I can because she said something about me, with glee, that was really quite vicious. “I saw a scared puppy,” she said, as she watched me on television, like millions of others, that didn’t see that. I wasn’t “scared.” Nevertheless, how mean a thing to say! She is a Wicked Witch whose husbands journey from hell starts and finishes with her. She is a sick & demented psycho who will someday live in HELL!

I'm not sure brexit is quite comparable to insurrection, but, yes, it's not exclusive to the US although it does seem to be more extreme there.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2023 11:57 amBit rude to just level that accusation at the Yanks.inactionman wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2023 9:46 amI'd add that many seem to be very impressionable, and defer their decision-making to whoever shouts loudest on cable TV.EnergiseR2 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2023 9:36 am

The Beeb wrote: A man who posted violent threats against President Joe Biden and other officials online was shot dead during an FBI raid on Wednesday.
Agents were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Craig Robertson at his home in Utah, just hours ahead of a planned visit to the state by Mr Biden.
A criminal complaint said Robertson posted threats on Facebook against Mr Biden and a prosecutor pursuing criminal charges against Donald Trump.
The FBI declined to give more details.
The raid happened at about 06:15 local time in Provo, about 40 miles (43 miles (65 km) south of Salt Lake City.
A criminal complaint outlined messages that Robertson made on Facebook including pictures of guns and threats to kill Mr Biden and Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney leading an investigation into a hush-money payment by Mr Trump to an adult film star.
According to the complaint, other messages targeted US Attorney General Merrick Garland and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Robertson posted on Facebook: "I hear Biden is coming to Utah. Digging out my old ghillie suit and cleaning the dust off the M24 sniper rifle."
It was just one of dozens of violent messages and photos of weapons posted on two of Robertson's Facebook accounts.
The complaint said Robertson came to the attention of federal agents in March after he posted a threat against Mr Bragg on Truth Social, the social network owned by Mr Trump. The company alerted the FBI's National Threat Operations Center.
FBI agents then visited the suspect, who told them that the post was a "dream" and ended the conversation by saying: "We're done here! Don't return without a warrant!"
Later posts by Robertson referenced his encounter with the agents, showed him in camouflage used by snipers, and repeatedly threatened public officials.
The messages continued as late as Tuesday, when he posted: "Perhaps Utah will become famous this week as the place a sniper took out Biden the Marxist."
Mr Biden is set to make his first visit to Utah as president later, with a visit to a veterans' hospital and a fundraising event in Park City.

I read somewhere that about 30% of Americans are committed Democrat's and about 30% are committed Republicans.
Its the 40% of non committed citizens who decide the outcome.
Take into consideration the backlash the hardline anti abortion Republican states. That (hopefully)not all of the 30% of staunch Republican voters will vote for Trump, and that (hopefully) less that 20% of the non committed voters don't.
This is however America. Anything can happen.

He launched his campaign months before anyone else, because he hoped to use it to, (i) grift a lot of money, & (ii) use it to shield himself from the multiple lawsuits & criminal charges incoming.
He's also the former President for dogs sake, & pretty much the only one that 90% of the population would recognise if they saw them in the street.
