Nothing to indicate when this happened, but we can hope it's new and one fewer TOS-1A in their armoury
Don't know how much a TOS-1A costs but to be taken out by a mere drone seems a very good return on investment!

Just extraordinary losses by the Russians over the last 24 to 48 hours with their blind assaults on Avdiivka. Madness. Utter madness.

The helicopter numbers lost to the ATACMS are crazy some estimate are over 21 (satellite images)

That's a few hunks of machinery. Ukrainians are claiming over 1300 Russian casualties yesterday. Stating it was worse that Bahkmut or Vulhedar.

These helicopters have been causing a lot of trouble (used to replace artillery that has been destroyed at crazy numbers).

I understand your point - there was a reason they were the first targets selected for use with the ATACMS.

I've seen a lot of shit these last 18 months.
But the sheer stupidity of RU actions in Avdiivka, Pisky area is astounding.
I've never seen such lack of disregard for soldiers. Running straight line human waves. Bodies stacked ontop of each other in fields, armor running over the deceased to get through.
The RU losses have to be extremely high. As in the thousands already and only from 3-4 days of fighting. And it's not just mobiks, it's vdv, dpr, & contract units. Just being thrown to slaughter in hopes Ukrainian positions run out of ammunition.

What's the idea behind this?
Take pressure off other areas?
Get a "win" at any costs?

Taking pressure off the Zaporizhzhia front is part of it, but it's also probably trying to push the Ukrainians back from proximity to Donetsk city with a view to freezing the front line in a more advantageous position. As it is the reason why Avdiivka has held out for 18 months is because it's a nightmare to assault; it's on a height with open fields and water obstacles to the north and south, as well as the enormous Terrikon slag mountain, and 8 years worth of fortifications in a great arc facing east.

Russians are digging tunnels in Avdiivka to get closer to the Ukrainian positions, says the spokesman of the 110th Brigade Anton Kotsukon':
"They are digging tunnels closer to our positions, firstly, for the purpose of camouflage, and, secondly, to emerge somewhere closer to our positions unexpectedly"
He also noted that Ukrainians spotted the use of remote-controlled robotic transport vehicles by the Russians that can carry a decent load.
Kotsukon' added that Russians are not abandoning hopes to take Avdiivka.

Desperation stuff. At this stage is pretty certain that Avdiivka has been an even greater disaster than Vuhledar.
It really is insane. I expect the Ukrainians to continue to advance in the south over winter. When are we expecting F-16s? Can't be far off now.

To paraphrase Russia sent more waves of attacks against the slag heap and did manage to get troops onto it so it is now contested territory. In response, the Ukrainians launched a counter-attack to cut off the southern pincer and prevent encirclement of Avdiivka.

Very reservedly the Russians confirm the takedown of their own Mi-8 helicopter which resulted in the deaths of 3 pilots "over the sea". A brief note without mentioning the names appeared on Kirill Fyodorov's channel where the fundraiser was also launched. It is still unclear where and when this happened.

Thought that might be it. Hungary still blocking either nation?

Hardly looks like an area where intense attack and defence has been ongoing...but Russia have claimed themselves a slag mound
Planting a flag doesn't mean much. The Ukrainians could easily send a loitering munition to blow it up.
