The 'large percentage' he wrote about did not mention deaths. Only you linked that - perhaps just after the red mist descended when you noticed that someone else was wrong on the internet.
I quoted the whole post , it was therefore pretty clear who mentioned killing. Some hoop to leap through there.
The other clue tying it all in was the word “even”.....
Perhaps taking your own advice and actually reading before trying (dismally) to be clever would be a better use of your energy.

This is what you wrote
“A large percentage”
It’s not even killing a large % of the over 80’s ......
I can only see a comment about deaths in your post. Please enlighten us.

Herd immunity works. Unfortunately in Covid's case it'll take maybe 4-5 years and kill everyone above the age of 80 or a BMI of 35. A large percentage of everyone else will suffer long-term vascular harm.
These are not my words , these are not my words... these are not my words.

I will probably regret this, but...
here's my take.
The gist of what Sandstorm said re herd immunity was: in Covid's case it'll take maybe 4-5 years and kill everyone above the age of 80 or a BMI of 35. A large percentage of everyone else will suffer long-term vascular harm.
The gist of Bimbo's response was: “A large percentage”
It’s not even killing a large % of the over 80’s ......
My reading of the latter is that Bimbo is doing two things.
He is expressly disputing Sandstorm's assertion that Covid will kill off all the >80s and he is implicitly, by quoting the words 'a large percentage', disputing Sandstorm's assertion regarding long-term vascular damage.

You’re granting him too much intelligence. He’s doing nothing other than being contrarian and anyone with any sense has him on ignore. It’s utterly predictable. He’ll quote this with some snide point trying to provoke but won’t get an answer because I ignore him.

Bimbo may have the (ahem) occasional contrarian moment but he posts frequently enough for me to become accustomed to his rather abbreviated style.

10%? 15% maybe?
Personally I'd rather not have to even contemplate losing my ability to walk up a flight of stairs without having to rest afterwards. I know two fit 50-something women in Cape Town in exactly that state after contracting Covid in May & June.

Quite frankly the who mentioned “killing” being in question even post the full quote and response being repeated demonstrates just how warped some people actually are when it comes to my post.
That Sandstorm is now weakling away with 10-15% being “large” shows he doesn’t understand the issue at all.
If he thinks 10-15% of infections are becoming “long covid” then it demonstrates absolutely no understanding of basic stats or the scale of the actual virus and it’s dangers.
This is common place on here and why it’s worth posting to correct those views.
It also clear that the use of single experience examples to “prove”something is now how people are wired. It’s terrifyingly stupid.

The estimate is 500,000 people have the virus in the last week of November. This would mean 50-75,000 cases of “long covid” , the week is falling cases from October. So by estimate of some 200,000 cases of long covid are now happening from October.
Does anyone really think 200,000 cases a month of long covid are actually happening in the UK. ?

For the record it kills about 5% of the over 80’s that are Infected. A large % if compared to the common cold. But still has a 95% survival rate.

The statistics as measured don’t show that, her extrapolation may be correct, however the amount of “recorded” Corona deaths is nothing like the excess recorded.

Oxford AZ Vaccine confirmed as "safe and effective" according to peer review published in the Lancet.
Dosage is still TBC, confused by the fact that no-one over 50 got the half-dose/full-dose mistake - and the size of that group was around half that of a normal Phase III trial vs the full trial which was nearly 10x the size.
I suspect that it will receive authorisation based on the half dose/full dose for the lower risk groups, with a further evaluation once the US trial is complete mid to end January - which would rather neatly align to the quantity of doses available for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines being allocated to the high risk groups

As soon as the AZ vaccine is approved a new trial will be starting mixing the vaccines - one dose of one and one of the other - to assess whether that provides better levels of immunity

Yeah, saw the news on that. Presumably targeting an extremely stable part of the virus (I did read about which bit it targets, but can't remember).

I think so, and something that's only possible with modern vaccine development techniques.
Tge comparison to Covid vaccine development is stark though - they've been hanging around for years for funding
