Growing the game at grass root level. And smashing representation targets.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2024 11:58 amNone from Westville? Ox will be disappointed.
Myself like Maritzburg and Kearsney College.
I wonder if any other school can show such representation. And I am talking ethnic/generic black representation. Not colourds or Indians

You will never get this in WP. can field three Craven Week teams and beat the rest.
CPL11 continues tomorrow with 2 matches scheduled.
Somerset Strikers first up is a grudge match. They eliminated us at the big bash tournament with some really impressive bowling and fielding. Let's hope our top order fires. Would be great to win the toss and bowl first in the dew

Milnerton high
So just recently around the time just before the loss to SACs , our blemish, one of the other teachers at Milnerton high tried to discredit Bobby. Implying that he had no formal accreditation.....
Caused a huge storm....fuck politics in sport.
So Bobby got this and showed that teacher the middle finger. We kept it all hush hush to minimize the reputational damage. But now it's clear as daylight.......and even better with Bobby's appointment. He has been given instructions not to appointment any Paarl players

What a journey for the Edgemead boys in the CPL11s. They fought to the end every game. The difference was definitely experience . Something the boys can put under their belt and grow from. The coaches were livid with the umpiring. But I look at it that the boys played against the best around. And we were an Edgemead team. Not a franchise.
My son gave a new cricket ball to his coach at the academy and he got it back signed by Laura Woolfard. Who has been at the academy since she was 8. At the session there were 6 Edgemead boys. Which just shows how badly these boys want it. Really looking forward to next season.

No sport for Sards and all the Sharks supporters. Into the garden you go on saturday. Lawn, winter grass can keep you busy.
Are you mad. Later this afternoon there is cricket. Jordy and Mathew are facing off in the quarters in the El Salvador tournament. And there's rugby. You can join me after todayOomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 4:04 am No sport for Sards and all the Sharks supporters. Into the garden you go on saturday. Lawn, winter grass can keep you busy.

Souties are rof in Cape Town. Sacs player want to bliksem some Bishops supporters after losing in the dying minutes.
Compare that to the Paarl Interschools where 20,000 plus attended and all went in the normal good rugby spirit.
This weekend the big interschools, nr1 Paul Roos vs nr2 Grey College. Paul Roos will miss 3 SA Schools players vs Grey College 2.

Must be nice to have wealthy parents who can afford to send their kids to those schoolsOomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 8:07 am Souties are rof in Cape Town. Sacs player want to bliksem some Bishops supporters after losing in the dying minutes.

Cape Town Soutie schools have a lot of politics between them. Wynberg parents working for Sacs parents who work for Bosch parents who work for Bishops parents. The Bishops parents told the Sacs players their parents can have the day off on monday after the win and the laaities didnt took it well.
It's in all sports in the Western Cape. Politics. That's why we moved from Sunningdale Cricket Club. It's a cluster vok. At Edgemead we found a great home. Parents are laid back and so cool. No Politics. If you are good enough you play. And in a position that suites your talent. Very rare to find this.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 11:16 am Cape Town Soutie schools have a lot of politics between them. Milnerton boys are crying about the heavy schedule the coach has put on the boys. 6 and a half hours a week practice. Snowflakes are leaving. The coach is too hard....vok.Their Cricket needs a kick up the butt. They have 12 first team players leaving year end and hardly a back up plan. So many kids give up once they get to under 16s.
Kids are giving up school cricket for Franchise cricket.....wtf.
The Phantoms etc.
Parents are ok with their kids giving up school cricket to play club because "it's too hard and they're being mean to my little prince" ??Sards wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 12:32 pmIt's in all sports in the Western Cape. You city spoiled brat Souties. Go to Paarl and Paul Roos where they still use the rottang.
I am at a session with my eldest. Just saw a kid throw his bat and kick everything on the way out the nets. Vok. What are these kids like at home.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 12:53 pmParents are ok with their kids giving up school cricket to play club because "it's too hard and they're being mean to my little prince" ??Sards wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 12:32 pmIt's in all sports in the Western Cape. I suppose it depends on how committed the kids are. If they are that competitive that they want to make a career out of it.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 1:05 pm You city spoiled brat Souties. Go to Paarl and Paul Roos where they still use the rottang.
Truth is that unless you are exceptional you will either end up as a coach or go play for an Irish club to earn Euros
Really....Sandstorm wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 12:53 pm You're the snowflake for letting your kids cry off and go somewhere piss-easy.
We have smashed his old club every time we played them. So how is it easier. In fact the Sunningdale boys are begging to join Edgemead. I just prefer the vibe as do the boys. Are you coaching at Wynberg.

I think if I had to send my kids to a school ever again, I'll have to move to Kimberly. They will be Diamantvelders but they would have to eat and sleep at home.
Huge drama at Milnerton high.
Derby day vs Melkbos
After the U16 match one of the Millies boys runs up to one of the Melkbos boys and punches and kicks him. A huge fight ensues with everyone getting involved. Had to watch the video a few times to catch all the action happening.
The Millies U16 lost. Only side that lost I think.
So all over social media this video is posted under the heading
" Milnerton are bad losers ".
Got the real story.
The kid that was hit by the Milnerton boy was insulting the Milnerton kids mother the entire match and apparently it was nasty. Millies kid just cracked after the game and went for him and got it all out of his system.
Then the Melkbos coaches and parents went fists blazing at all the Milnerton boys.
Now of course the Millies kid was severely punished. He is a black kid btw and it was a white kid that was insulting his mom....if that matters to anyone. He deserves punishment for his reaction.
But I kinda understand. My eldest said that if anyone said those things about his mother he would also attack him.

Went to Rugby festival there late 80s. Really nice school and excellent hosts.
